Heyo!

I'm looking for a few good Gnome stories. What type of story? The type of fireside story an elderly Gnome might tell to his or her grandchildren. Something along the lines of Aesop's fables or a "Just So" story would be appropriate, as would a simple bedtime story or brief history lesson.

Here are the basic rules and guidelines:

(1) The story needs to be fairly brief. Somewhere in the ballpark of 25 sentences is getting close to the limit, but smaller is better. If you need inspiration, check out the storyteller in Muspar'i. The stories he tells are about the right size and spirit for what I'm looking for.

(2) Be creative, and remember that these are stories that ideally an elderly Gnome would be sharing around the fireside. Try to present them as such!

(3) This contest is open to everyone, but the incentive package (see below) is available only to Gnomes.

(4) All stories should be original. There's nothing wrong with reworking classic fables and fairy tales a bit to fit the scope of this project, but no copyrighted material, please. I'd hate to have to beat you with my kneecapping stick!

(5) Any story submitted may be used in-game, at which point it becomes the property of Simutronics.

(6) For more details on (4) and (5) above, please review the Terms of Service at http://www.play.net/dr/simu_policy.asp, Section 11b in particular.

(7) Stories should be submitted via e-mail to DR-DARTENIAN@PLAY.NET. Plain text files are preferred, but as long as I can read 'em, anything works. Please be sure to make it clear in the title of your e-mail that this is a submission for the Gnome Story Contest.

(8) Please also include the name of your Gnome character in your submission if you want the incentive package detailed below. You do not need to have a Gnome to submit a story, but the gift is for Gnome characters only.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: March 15th, 2007.

Now for the incentive package!

Any Gnome will be eligible for a gift package. The package itself will consist of a full set of matched Gnome clothing from the famous Gnome fashion designer Roinkle, available in a choice of several colors.

As long as you are a Gnome and submit an eligible story under the above guidelines, you'll get your gift package as soon as I can track you down.

As mentioned before, you do not need to be a Gnome to submit entries, but the incentive package is for Gnomes only. A selection of these stories will be used in-game, and whether you are a Gnome or not, if your story is used you will receive a special storyteller medallion in addition to seeing your story featured in the live game.

Oh, and one more question...

Do they come in orange, peach or tangerine?

Where might I find this story teller fellow in Muspari? Or do I just kind of wander around until I find him. No need for exact just a hint would be nice. Everand.

The Muspar'i storyteller tends to wander around the performer area. He does has to sleep once in a while, however.

I wrote a short gnome story and sent it in. I requested that the gift be given to a gnome who is actually on my account. Will she receive the gift when the contest is totally over or will she need to be found in the game at any time? This has actually given me incentive to play her.

Thank you,

Allarsk

Heyo!

I'll try to catch you in-game. If I haven't caught you by shortly after the end of the contest, I'll resort to Plan B, which is scheduling a meet time via e-mail. No fear! It'll get to you!
