Other than the obvious smoking, tart eating, and drinking...does anyone know if there are any established Olvi wedding traditions?

I don't know much about "official" olvi wedding traditions, but I always thought it might be neat to have your wedding band be a toe ring. The only thing I don't like about that, is it would probably get pretty dirty that way. <chuckle>
I think any olvi wedding would be a grand party! Lots of goodies and dancing, and toasts to Saemus.

Well, I will say this..
In the way of culture..Players can have a HUGE influence on how things develop. The Dwarven Stomp was sprung from the mind of a player, and because of the way other players of Dwarves embraced it, it began to spread. Currently "Stomping" has found its way into some of the GM written literature, and so has been confirmed and placed within Dwarven history.
So, brainstorm. Think of some traditions YOU would like to see.
Perhaps the bride and groom have to bake a tart for each other, or perhaps they each need to bake a tart for Saemaus.
Perhaps they have to kneel down before each other and wash each others feet as a sign of love, and a sign that they are committed to taking care of each other. Or just brushing each other's feet.
Perhaps at the dinner at the reception, perhaps they leave a chair and space at the table open for Saemaus, complete with a pipe and tobacco laid out for him.
Perhaps the use of smoke images could be utilized somehow through the ceremony. Whether it is done by the people coming down the isle (An Olvi Flower Girl blowing smoke rose petals and hearts), or done by an Olvi priest or priestess who could perhaps make Glythtide's ram or Saemaus's donkey ride around the two lovers, or something as simple as exhaling a smoky handfasting cord around the enclasped hands of the bride and groom, or perhaps those to be wedded would use their pipes or cigars in their vows to accentuate what they are pledging to their beloved.
Anyway, these are just random suggestions.

if yer havin an assisted wedding, ya should have a love pipe of sorts made, and yas two has to both smoke from it ta show ya love fer one another, mebbe blow a heart or sumfin too.
also, I dunno when da olvi language plannin on bein released, but mebbe da GMs release some words, phrases, and what not ya kin use in da wedding, have da Cleric say sumfin, say stuff in olvi in ya vows, mebbe inscribe sumfin on rings in olvi, etc.
jus a few ideas, ta get ya brainstormin

Your Years behind the times...
6 years back me and Rim Married. We have Wedding toe rings. He also had a tandem Olvi ceremonial pipe made for a special wedding item and worked it into the wedding ceremony.
The toe rings did cause some problems with wedding ring verbs though but we accepted it. The messaging defaults on some messages to the word finger. I am still very proud of the wedding toe ring and pipe I designed long long ago...
Guilty as charged!

Did that as well at the Soim/Rim Wedding. though the GM had to take over after we blew smoke to make a fancy image come to life. Eeeeps I remember now my image was Damaris in black panther form and hers I forget. That part was Rims and the Wedding GM's idea though...

course I had like Gizilla as Cleric then and she rocked for RP and cool things in ceremonies. Sunnie and I forget other bardess had allot of parts as well. Spicing up the ceremony and putting play act in for some stuff.
A well planned out wedding can be damn cool... Its funny how years later people are just now having ideas I planned on like a Olvi fiend to make it all special.
OH back then the price of a wedding was like 50 plat. Thats it just 50 plat... And that seemed very pricey and took some saving to amass...
