Hi,
I'm looking for feedback on a map I'm developing of Arthe Dale. Briefly, the map is supposed to be more for fun; if someone wants a map just for getting around, others have already done this. So I went with a style that is supposed to look hand-drawn and folksy... but I'm worried it just looks sloppy. And some people prefer more geometric maps, and I'll gladly redraw the map if that's the feedback I get.
It's my lunch hour, and I'm a bit pressed for time. But before I start working on making the map interactive (overlays, and further information available on mouseover), I'd love to get some feedback first so I backtrack as little as possible. So please, if you have any suggestions, let me know!

I like it a lot! Very neat looking, I think it fits Arthe Dale's personality very well. And you're dead on, if people want geometric directions, Ranik's maps are already there -- this should be something different. Keep it up, it's a neat project. It doesn't look sloppy at all.

might want to put a special emphasis or identifier for Olvi points of significant importance. Tobacco and Tarts. I like it though but since you asked I figured I would offer some thoughts I had.

Thanks for the posts and emails so far. Looks like people are okay with the look of it, so now I'll try to make it interactive.
No plug-in necessary. It will be simple image-swapping javascript.
One concern I'm looking ahead at is the quantity and size of the files that will need to download to a computer for it to work right. If I do an image for each room shot, that's roughly 100 images, and at roughly 10kb per image, that's a meg's worth of download. So maybe I'll do what some sites do, and offer a broadband and a dial-up version.
More feedback is still good, keep it coming. Either way, I'll post updates as feasible.

<<The players will know and understand if they see a post-title of "of Arthe Dale" that I am a citizen of Zoluren. But I want them to know my character's reputation includes an affiliation with Arthe Dale, regardless if that also means my citizenship dues go to the Prince.
I got no problem with the suggestion, was having fun with it though heh. Anyway, I'd like to see it done as well, your citizenship title not being just "of province X" but the city you claim as home, although if more folks start taking citizenship in tigerclan wolfclan etc I'd like to see more people actually hanging around there.
In my push for post titles though, I'm still with some others in trying to get the "of the "province X" infantry/cavalry/or navy" post title for those that don't get the CDR, LT, or SGT pretitles...once we get those I'd be more than happy to jump in and support your cause for more localized citizenship.
Just be glad that all those folks that are "of Elanthia" aren't paying taxes to all the provinces collectively...why would ya need "of Elanthia" where else are we all from?
