I've posted over in General Discussions about the need for citizenship in Arthe Dale. If you're of a like mind, add your two cents!

Skylira,

I looked for your post but didn't see it. So here is my thinking...

Taffei has always firmly believed in the promise made to the olvi by Lanival. He granted that ALL the lands are ours. If she declared citizenship to any one province, that would be like giving up claim to the rest. Therefore, Taff will never declare for only a small piece of the whole she already owns.

All the lands could also be roughly translated as one of them "master of all I survey" type of all the lands things, which from that height......

Yep, by the time I found the "thread" in General Discussions, there were so many new posts non-related for me to consider the "thread" over. You're probably just as well off with the thread here, actually. Morzy and Cadaya both read here.

I would like to think it's a coding issue. Pre and post titles are for the benefit of the players, as our characters do not see them. And the mechanics/system should be in place for the players, not the other way around. I'm fine if OOC and IC I have to go through the Zoluren (or wherever) citizenship mechanics, but let me choose from a list of post-titles for that region. What I'm trying to get across to the other players is a feel for my character, the same as any title. The players will know and understand if they see a post-title of "of Arthe Dale" that I am a citizen of Zoluren. But I want them to know my character's reputation includes an affiliation with Arthe Dale, regardless if that also means my citizenship dues go to the Prince.

I'm not sure why this is such a hard point for some to understand. But unless it actually comes to fruition (DRII?), it's kind of been a dead-horse issue for some time.
