A question here as I continue to ponder the races in DR - this is a question, not a complaint, so don't take it as such!
Some races have what I think of as racial leaders - Prydaens definitely, Eloths, Elves somewhat. Is there anyone that you can think of as a Human racial leader?
Some people may say the Baron, or the Prince. Are these really seen as leaders of the Human race, or are they simply leaders of their provinces that happen to be human? The Ferdahl I always saw as both the leader of her province and of her race, but I am not sure I see the Baron or the Prince as such.
Anyone have thoughts?
Also, does anyone have any thoughts of developing some racial rp and traditions? Any of the clans, areas, etc?
Anyway, just some thoughts.

My first thoughts on this is that the human empire would most likely be too expansive (both geographically, and in population) to really expect for it to unite under a single leader.
As far as clans, I'd love to see them developed further, and make them joinable, as well as actually see ones that are supposed to exist and don't become a reality. I play my character as a member of Wolf Clan, however I there's only a little to go on, so I tend to lean towards the more historical and nomadic nature of it rather than what it seems to be today.

Excellent point, and I would tend to agree.

Do others do something like this, for their rp as a human?

I play Halcier as a Ram Clan member, with active ties to home, but I agree that it's also somewhat difficult as I don't want to get too specific about things lest development of Clans or of the actual Clan location occur and make my imagined information incorrect.

The human leaders see very distant for the most part. The leader of Wolf Clan might as well not exist for all the interaction Humans can have with him. Is there a leader of Tiger Clan? The other clans that might exist don't even have villages to my knowledge. I might be mistaken. I gave up on trying to rp my human characters as belonging to any clan or house. The Baron and Prince act like they think they are Elves generally, with little or no effort to reach out to their guilds or their race. The various noble houses that presumably exist are the same way. The military leaders that were human did not act like they were human leaders, just military leaders.
I see a total void to be honest of any sort of racial leader for humans.

Tiger Clan is actually a Gor'Tog Clan run by Ortug.
I can't say a whole lot about humans, but we're certainly aware of issues involving not only perks of being one, but the RP aspect as well. I would just suggest continue posting. That helps us out, even if we remain quiet. :)

Developement on the Human race? Don't even make me have some hope for that. Humans are so varied that I guess they feel we do not need to know anything or develope anything but our own histories. It has been years since anything was done with us and that was Ohh.. snap oh yeah and we have a book on human cuisine. I would like to see more written on the Empire and the background, more information on the off-shoot societies from that. Dragon and other, The Baron and Prince are not considered leader of the race. But, you can look to the Therengia history, which is all human.Basically only regarding the Theren family.
Tossing in an elf here and there for midnight carnal knowledge. Breaking the actually blood lines (growls). If anyone knows Ket, they know how that grates on her. If you don't just ask her. But least the product of the interlude was part gypsy so, it is acceptable to her. The other was the product of a noble woman and human, again acceptable.
But they are the closest we have to human understanding, even if they would rather be messing with elves than humans. (grins) But as it was said before, Vorclaf is considered more elven than human and last few loves were elves, not human.
There is some information regarding some other humans, I am not sure I want to call them clans, more like societies. Really it is just small glips of information. I just feel more time should be spent in developing humans. We can all write our own backgrounds, but there is very little to go on if you want to actually belong to a society of long ago and try to revise it.
And please, no one ask for a high five move... I want some background and history.

She has always been Human, least since I've known her, though sometimes she does make one wonder...'What the heck is she?" *ducks and runs*

So, each of the races seems to be getting a look as far as gear and clothing is concerned. However, near as I can tell we have a wide variety of different clans and ethnic groups from very different environments. Hense they have very different looks and gear. I would love to see something showing which groups are from where and what they typically looked like and did, how they lived, what they wore, and what sort of gear they had.
I am very tired of my humans having to pattern themselves off of other races for different story lines. I would love somethings uniquely human.

Think Europe around the Middle Ages. Specifically Britain.
If you're looking for a more modern comparison, I'd say Americans simply because Humans are such a random hodge-podge IG.
And most of them either like to make fun of Elves (who are, of course, the French) or shack up with them.

I will admit that my Human character has a certain affection for attractive "long-ears" (though whether she'd ever actually snag one is debatable).
My Elf, though...Not so fond of Humans. Though they do make good flings.

I like to rp my human character as having come from a farm nestled somewhere in between the clans west of the Crossing on the other side of the brook.
His father was a rodeo calf rancher and his mother took care of the homestead before it was destroyed by rampaging ogres. Thus the move to the big city.

I've met a few "enterprising farm boys" that didn't have much in the way of interesting before they went adventuring. Most people go for big because you have to be big to get noticed by anyone or for anyone to think you actually put effort into your story.
Though if you think about it, no matter how normal a person's life is from the outside they're going to have their own set of unique experiences that they see as being very signifigant. Especially true for my Human, who believes she's had a few religious experiences and worships accordingly. Her life, though, particularly from the outside, is not all that unusual in the context of Elanthia.
