Hi everyone,
On Friday, August 1st, between 6pm-9pm EST, I'll be opening up my office from Town Green, South. There will be a Lich Gate there that will provide access to an entirely OOC brainstorming event. Please note I said OOC; This is not a roleplaying event. Please do not expect to see GMPCs at this event. GameMasters will be present in text-person.
Tentative agenda(because we follow these, right?):
Meet and Greet
Barrier Quest Q&A
Idea Sharing, Wish Lists, Et al
Take Aways
I only ask that you come with a positive attitude, respect others and their ideas, and bring your Prydaen-centric ideas.
Stuff to think about:
Items - weapons, armor, food, clothing, accessories, toys.
Events - What would be a fun event? Prydaen or just Prydaen related. We want everyone to have fun.
Verbs/Mechanics - New ones, desired changes to current ones.
Merchants - New merchants or wish lists for current Prydaen ones.
If you believe you will be unable to attend the event at all and you'd like to share an idea, please feel free to email what you'd like to share to DR-NAOHHI@play.net.

Hooray! I was wondering if there were any Prydaen things still going on. I was around back in Vreeland days and just returned to the game recently (sucks it appears I missed all the Lyras action though). I'll try and come up with some goodies by then, see you all there!

There was a cool Prydaen faire ahh, a while ago was it after HE 2013? Umm everything's kinda blending together, but I've been a bit well out of game and events of late.

Hi all,
With the planned work on this.. I'd love to not miss anything, so please submit all of your burning questions. If it's inappropriate for the boards, it's probably not going to end up in the book, so please find a way to ask that is rated E!
Questions already submitted:
Do Prydaen have whiskers? Whiskers above the eyes or just eyelashes?
Do Prydaen have a Flehman response via the vomeronasal organ like IRL cats?
Are Prydaen claws retractable?
Why can't Prydaen whistle?/What are Prydaen lips like?
How much does a Prydaen rely on their tail for balance?
Do Prydaen have a catatonia response to being seized by the back/scruff of the neck?
Do Prydaen have an intolerance for milk or chocolate?
How to Prydaen react to catnip?
How do Prydaen bathe? Do they use a brushing/coat-oil regiment?
Do Prydaen have vestigial papillae (the spines on the tongue which make it feel rough)?
What is the Prydaen leg structure like? More human or more feline?
Do Prydaen have the third eyelid? The clear one that goes sideways?
What is the general face shape for a Prydaen?
Do Prydaen have extra jaw strength to eat live prey?
How many teeth?
Are regional markings genetic? Are they west/east formed? Do they still hold true?
Do Prydaen have footpads on their paws?
Do Prydaen roar or purr?

Do prydaen have a catatonia response to being seized by the back/scruff of the neck? I guess as a setup, do they have skin which is 'tight' over the neck like a human, or is it slack enough to pick them up, like a true cat?
If so, true cats have an automated reflex to basically go into a catatonia/hypnotized state and sort of 'curl up' so mama can carry them around. Even adults. Google something like 'hypnotizing cats with binder clips'.
Note: it's neither a pain nor a fear response, it's been studied, so don't go 'animal cruelty on me'.

How often does a Prydaen mistake a S'kra Mur's sandpit for a bathroom instead of a bed?
Do sandpit builders see Prydaens as an untapped market for upscale toilets?

Just once per family tree if the S'kra is hungry. Tell the grandkits that story, and I guarantee it won't happen twice.

In most animals (from birds to cats to dogs), the feet separate further, and this makes their 'knee' their ankle in appearance, while their true knee is closer to their stomach region.
However Prydaen's are Humaniod, do they still have this breakdown, and can they really kneel because of it?
Or do they have a more 'Human' feel to their leg anatomy, where the whole 'heel to toe' touches the ground when they stay at a casual stand.

Separately do Prydaen's prefer to be barefoot or do they use shoes, boots, or sandals, and if they do (while in game there will be hand waving) would realistically the design and setup of their shoes be separate due to how their feet are clawed, and setup?

From what I remember, only Rakash really have the "odd feet" problem. (and only when in moonskin)

Essentially, this. Though since footware preferences aren't something likely to be detailed in an anatomy book, I'm going to go ahead and state that the type of footware or lack thereof that a Prydaen prefers depends vastly on their climate and personal preferences.

How about general face shape? Do they have any kind of muzzle (not as long as a Rakash, I'm sure), or is their face more flattened? Extra jaw strength to eat live prey? How many teeth? Whiskers above the eyes or just eyelashes (both?)
And all the different types of Prydaens--mountains, forests, plains, desert (https://elanthipedia.play.net/mediawiki/index.php/Prydaen)--are the markings and other genetic differences mentioned part of the bloodlines from their original lands, or were they formed after the migration? Do they all just mix'n'match these days? Did they spread out and try to find areas to live that they're comfortable with--desert Prydaen trying to live near Muspar'i?

Do Prydaen have footpads on their paws? This ties in directly to the footwear question. It wouldn't make much sense for them to evolved to footwear if they did, given their cultural predisposition to hunting and stealth.
It also ties into the question as to if they have retractable claws, yes?
If you act like prey, do not blame me for acting like the predator I am.

Queue 'I found it on the web so it must be true' but the distinction between 'big' and 'small' cats is apparently 'does it purr'. So despite its size, a caracal would be considered a small cat because it purrs, which is odd, but hey, cats are odd.
