Ya know what else would be cool? Moonskin penalties based on stats. Would be cool for me, anyways.

It is simply a silly mechanic that offers nothing to those of us playing Rakash and for which there is zero mitigation. I really wish they would simply scrap this mechanic or make it purely RP without some insane stun as a repercussion of shifting.

It would be cool if there was

1) Warning messages leading up to it, so someone could better prepare by being out of combat.
2) A way for Rakash to temporarily "resist" the change from taking effect based on their concentration. You're never going to actually resist the chance, but you might get an extra minute or two for whatever reason you need one.

I dream one day of a game-wide event that would solve the Rakash/Katamba/World Dragon connection. Tie it in with Moon Mage Events or Cleric Events, or whatever. I have a rough proposal for something like this, but its so patched together I wouldn't feel good about posting it yet.

But it is a good dream.

Have you invested in the simple wooden wristcuff? (Autohides you when stunned.)

Other than that, the only thing I can think of currently for dealing with a Rakash change is to restrict yourself to a guild with some kind of stun-breaker or something to deal with stuns. As far as I know, that's Bard (Scream Defiance), Paladin (Anti-stun), or Moon Mage (Contingency).

Berserks are the best besides AS, because they're pulsing anti-stun. Of course, in order to use that, he'd have to use berserks instead of dances, and by dillo level dances far outpace berserks on a general level.

Thankfully with 3.0 they won't be mutually exclusive.

Can't you berserk out of a dance? Or can you not berserk while stunned?

You can at level 80, and you can also berserk out of a stun, but the IF cost is obscenely high. He'd have to exit the hunting area immediately after killing those dillos.

Its not really at all bad with high stats. Moonskin seems to completely drain IF is the problem. Upon berserking out of moonskin, the berserk ends immediately(p sure I posted a log of this a few pages back).

The only barb ability that's totally obscene when it comes to IF consumption is Trothfang berserk. Seriously, its almost completely unusable. And ridiculously powerful.

Also, Gorteous, didn't you tell me the auto-hide wristcuff doesn't trigger on this type of stun?

If so, that nix's that as a viable solution. Unless this can be changed?

Yea, I'm wearing an auto-hide brooch.

You can observe my stun in the logs I've posted - it never kicks in even when the game is clearly telling me 'I'm stunned' for for like a minute straight. It has never worked for me in that situation. Definitely broken.

Not that it's any excuse for BS moonskin mechanics, but yea.

It's not necessarily moonskin. Berserking out of a dance takes a huge amount of IF, plus berserk cost, and then breaking the stun adds more.

Not all stuns are made equal. The moonskin stun is likely similar to the stun you get after taking the easy route from the undergondola. Even with full IF and only using the lowest level of berserks to break the stun, the berserk will instantly end with you at zero IF and just as stunned as you were to begin with.
