Allow me to start this by saying this is just an idea, though, if it ever became more, I would be willing to host and coordinate the event, with some help.
Ranger Campout!!! Ready for a night of adventure and fun!? Then come join your Ranger brethern as they travel far and wide to bring a true taste of Elanthian Adventure to you!
What will there be? Hunting, Campfires, Classes, Food, Drink, Stories and much more.
Who are we? A small group of Rangers dedicated to making this night a memorable one for all parties involved.
Who are you? Anyone who enjoys adventure, danger, fun, stories.
We will meet at the docks in crossing at which time we will board The Stranger Ranger where Pilot Ushzabum and Ship's Master Styil will guide the vessle to our night of camping. We will arrive at our destination where we will backpack into our campsite in mysterious Forfedhdar, after a quick stop off to check out the shops in River Clan. Upon arriving we will set up camp, pick our sleeping spots, and leave to gather food (hunt) and firewood (forage). Nightly guides will be set up for the varying groups of participants to thier hunt, we would like to keep this even to those who have advanced up to 15 times. Upon completion of our nightly activities we will return to the campsite where we will lay out our bedrolls (provided, and yours to keep!) there will be a hot campfire waiting along with an assortment of delicious treats. Night activites will consist of lessons from elder Rangers, fletching lessons, tanning lessons, lessons of companions (any and all furry critters are invited to come along too). After the lessons are over and we have all eaten and drank our fill, we shall return to the boat the same way we arrived where Ushzabum will ensure safe return to the Crossing docks. Before you leave each participant will leave with a new bow, 10 brand new arrows, a new leather tanned cowl, and new leather tanned gloves.
The cost for participation in this event is 5 gold kronars (financial assistance is available to those who qualify "Novice Rangers", please see Styil prior to boarding) and will be paid to the owner of The Stranger Ranger prior to boarding the Ship.
SHOULD the worst happen and we suffer casualties on the trip, triage services will be set up at the campsite including two healers and two raising clerics.

I havent nailed down a specific date yet, but I was looking at the events already scheduled, I dont want to interfere with anything, so I'm thinking about the 30th at say noon EST. If that sounds okay and I get enough response back I'll set it up officially tomorrow.

Re: Campout on 06/10/2007 02:01 PM CDT
Okay the Campout is going to be planned for Saturday, July 14th. It will start at 6PM EST and go to whenever we decide we're done, but I'm figuring a rough time-frame of 6 hours. The schedule for this is follows:
-6PM We will meet at the Island Dancer (Ship is changed but still the same deal) which will be moored to the Landfall Docks in Crossing. We will collect registration fees there, or for anyone who paid early just board the ship. Each particpant will recieve his or her pack with armor (gloves and cowl), longbow, bedroll, arrows and whatever else I decide to put in it.
-6:30 We will cast off from the docks for the trecherous journey......across the River.
-6:31 ::grin:: we will dock on the other side of the dock and start making our way to the campsite
-7:00 We will stop for a short shopping spree in the shops on the way to our Campsite
-7:30 We will make our way into the campsite and start to set up camp
-8:00 We will head to the Ranger Guild in Boar Clan for a tour, followed by a tour of Boar Clan itself.
-9:00 We'll break up in our groups and head off to do some hunting, exploring, going into areas we have no business being in but are gonna anyway, or whatever else we decide to do
-10:00-11:00 (based on what the partipants want) We will head back to our campsite to impress the other groups with our trophys and stories of the hunt/exploration. The group leaders will offer classes in whatever the particpants wish and offer a lesson on Tanning, Fletching, and whatever else Ranger we want to talk about. Any questions about being a Ranger will be answered at this time that the participants have, as well as advice on how to best be a Ranger.
-11:00-12:00 (depending on when the hunting ends) We will clean up our campsite and head back to the Island Dancer via The Gear Gate, (hey, why not go south to get north)
-12:00-1:00 we will re-board the Island Dancer and set sail for the long journey across the river, where we will all bid fare well.
This will be open to anyone 20th Circle or less from the Ranger Guild.
<<Registration for this event will be Ranger only however particpants will be permitted to bring a friend/guest/spouse for an additional entry fee.
NOTE: This event is centered around RANGERS. The particpants will be allowed to choose what lessons they want taught in during the campfire, however, it will probably be a Survival skill. BE WARNED THIS IS CENTERED AROUND RANGERS.
Registration cost is 5 gold kronars, and financial assistance is available to those who qualify (Novice's only)
You may register any time for this event by E-mailing me at Briguy2314@hotmail.com please put the subject as "campout"
Any Ranger who wants to go along to lead, or give lessons, or tours, or lecture a group, or just has something else to offer please Email me at Briguy2314@hotmail.com subject "Campout"
*Any mentors are encouraged (and begged) to spread the word about this, if they're allowed. Keep in mind its Ranger focused.*
I am open to any and all suggestions to make this a better more memorable event for all parites involved.

Eh I dont care about 5 gold. I'm spending way more than that on it. Free is fine. It was just to give it some sort of structure, or something. I dunno. Free is fine.

I am by no means saying it isn't a good idea, and I would have no problems donating to the cause, since I think it is one of the most unique things I have seen in a while. I will do my best to get to crossing area to help partake and donate that which might be needed. If not, I hope it goes well.

Re: Campout on 06/11/2007 11:42 AM CDT
I'll accept any help thats offered. I've got a ton of work to do in tanning (which has been lightened some, Thanks Tenteth for that) and even more fletching, honestly one of the biggest things I could use help with is getting someone to go to Ratha and get the bedrolls (which of course I'm footing the cost for, I also dont know how much they are). Beyond that I dont know how many "leaders" I have for the actual trip yet, and I'm not HUGELY familiar with River Clan, Boar Clan, or P5 in general, though I know my way around farily well. Any intel on this would be great, or someone who IS familiar with it would be great. Any and all help is greatly appreciated, but certainly not required. The biggest feat will be spreading the word and getting people to attend.

Gonna try to be there to teach, but I sure can't lead worth a darn. I can make some serpent leathers if you want to give out a few sets of those as well.

I too will be happy to help with funding...I may or may not be able to attend the actual event, though like others stated, I would also probably be more efficient at leading towards certain death (which hey, that's a risk with being a ranger, no?). Also, I'll look in my vault and see what Rangerly things I'll be willing to part with for prizes...God knows my vault could use the space. Feel free to contact me sometime on AIM Ilithic Forester.
Also, if you would like I could put together a few herb pouches. It may be nice to have part of the group gather their own, but not a bad idea to have a few pre-made for those oh-so-often "oh crap" moments we Rangers delightfully get ourselves into.

Campout time on 07/07/2007 12:02 PM CDT
Just so everyone knows this is still happening, July 14th, 6PM EST we WILL be meeting for the campout. No one is going to be turned away, anyone under 20th that attends will get the pack full of goodies. We're meeting at Landfall docks, but we will also have Guides placed at the Ranger Guild and probably the bank. There is no registration fee, free to anyone who wants to come. I'll post a lil more description (the itinerary) later when I have some time.
Cheers folks, Look forward to seeing you there, crunch time now! Spread the word!

Just wanted to be the first to say that I had a great time and look forward to the next one. I never seen that many Rangers not get lost, considering all the travelling we did. Thanks to Styil and the rest that planned this event.
