Nice! Do those affected get a decent roundtime or stun or something so that they actually stay down for a moment?

There is a roundtime attached to impacted victims. Also, the free hand requirement has gone away.

Pole and melee, and knocks any hiders out it hits. The anti-web has gone away, as you might suspect, and it is now a full scale offensive spell.

Nice addition. Is the contest different for hiders than it is for those in the open or under the spot effect?

I would like to suggest a small addition to this spell.

>cast Rmel
A grizzly claw sprouts from the ground and scrambles away to find Rmel, giving him 100 seconds of roundtime.
Roundtime: 1 sec.

Another, larger claw scrambles off to give Rmel another 200 roundtime.

This should only work on Rmel. Maybe Tyrun too because he needs to be nerfed.

I like it a lot, but I have to say I liked it a little better before he fixed this...

Mvorn roars and draws his arms back. A dark, transparent blue glow ripples down his arms, crackling with the muted growl of a bear as it shapes itself into two large claws.
Mvorn lashes out with both arms, sending a concussive wave of blue force outwards all around him!
The wave of blue force blasts your body backwards along the ground!
Roundtime: 100 sec.

Another note that doesn't seem right. I can cast it at minprep with someone hiding unseen at melee. I can see them dodge the spell even when they're hidden, essentially letting me know they're engaged to me and hiding there without a skillcheck. Doesn't seem quite right, if they dodge from hiding, I shouldn't see them.

Otherwise, I think this spell will work great in conjunction with our other disablers. Also it can be used defensively against annoying backstabbers. Fix the MR thing that Xelten mentioned and I have no complaints.

Doesn't make it right. I'd prefer they fix all the stupid spells that do this, rather than make more since.. why should someone with 100 perc have anything tell them the name of someone with 800 hiding who they'd never see or hit?

Yeah, that's a whoops.

Unfortunately this can't be fixed on a spell to spell basis, it'll have to be fixed in the magic system itself.

I gotta say overcoming MR is really hard in a room with a few people. Would make it hard to use the spell in certain settings (like tournies). What's odd though, is I can cast a 30 mana swarm (room spell, failed at minprep due to MR), but I can't cast a 60 mana GRIZ (due to MR).

I am sure there are other spells with issues, but I cannot think of any off hand other than Swarm and Grizzly Claw. As far as I know, I have never seen a Paladin fail Smite Horde, for instance. Chain Lightning works fine. TKS, Shadow Web, etcetera.

It seems like rather than checking magic resistance at the time of casting, the spell should check individual resistance when it attacks something.

I do not know how the code works, obviously, but basically it would always go off when you cast and then it would acquire its targets. At that point, it would individually check magic resistance of the thing it is attempting to attack, so if you attacked multiple things, some might resist and others might have to face the SvA contest. This would stop stacking of resistance, but I do not see that being a bad thing.

Like the footprint of a giant bird, the trail branches in three directions. One branch curves toward the northwest, where a large hill of dirt and rock rises from the earth. Another leads deeper into the dead silence of the wood, its end lost in the dark shadows beneath the trees. The third branch leads east towards the derelict road. You also see a caracal, a caracal, a caracal, a caracal, a cougar that is lying down, a cougar, a cougar that is lying down, a cougar that is lying down, a cougar that is lying down, a cougar and a dead tree with a darkened hollow near its base.

Yes, I was harnessing about 30 when I tried it between your previous post and mine. It was against low level undead. I realize undead have better magic resistance than other things, but the gap in levels between them and my character should have more than compensated, as far as I know.

Now I am easily succeeding against three malchata with only a little harnessed mana. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to get a fourth.

There does seem to be a difference now between in range and not in range, so that alone is a huge benefit.

Against even lower level undead, I tested the spell, and no matter how much mana I use, it absolutely cannot affect them in any way.

Undead are a very bad choice to test on. Against non-holy spells they can sometimes chop off 30-40% power even before MR. I have no idea how that works with AoEs.

I hopefully fixed the Plat issue.
