Thanks for the changes, Z. However, I have some concerns. It is a nice spell in theory, but there are a few problems that are making its usage impractical.
The minimum prep is still twelve mana which is exceptionally high in comparison to our other spells, especially as a second tier. I believe you had mentioned possibly agreeing to cutting it in half to six. Doing so would increase the usability of the spell.
The spell contests the magic resistance of everything in the area rather than just those in range. This basically prevents it from being used at all around multiple targets or even multiple people that are standing around.
It cannot be used in town. While this is part of some other spells, it does not seem like a necessary inhibitor for something as limited as knockback/knockdown with roundtime.
The absolute maximum success appears to be nine seconds. Given that the spell is limited by range, etcetera, something more like fifteen would seem more appropriate for a critical success.
If the spell is cast again before the roundtime is up, it induces no roundtime at all. I can understand not being able to stack roundtime indefinitely, but at least adding two or three seconds (since casting the spell requires two seconds of its own) would be appropriate.
