Before I say anything, I want to tell you that in DR, I roleplay a druid. Period. There have been many debates about this, but I am not here to discuss why I can or can't be a druid as a ranger. Anyway, I wanted to point out that you people are describing druids as hippies...hmm. Not quite the same thing. I play a druid, but he is not lovey dovey with the animals, nor does he hug trees(a tremendous amount anyhow...I have been known on occasion--erm). But druid does not mean vegetarian. I eat meat, but I am gracious that nature gives it to me. I fight with only natural weapons and armor(switch to QS main was a big pain, I don't recommend it unless you are serious). I look at it this way: Rangers are survivalists, and they....I do not want to say use nature, but that's how I must put it at this time, to survive in their environment. Druids are a part of nature itself, and understand how to survive in it, but not in the same way. I know many of you will disagree as you have already called my style of roleplay "wrong", and said "certain guild members should be tacked to the walls." Say what you wish, I just want you for a split second to look at things from my point of view...
Druid Dronith K'taratur (For those of you that care, brother of Telbar)

I think one of the things that's special about the guild system in DR is that you can create whatever type of character you want. People don't have to follow a Barbarian Archetype or a ranger Archetype or whatever. You taylor your character to you own archetype..
example:
A Barbarian can have the title Veteran. A barbarian can also have the title Berserker. These are very very different types of characters-- yes they both kill, but a Veteran would be more prone to using their mind.. A berserker... kills stuff dead. Like Raid. but on a larger scale.
Rangers, too, can have different aspects. You can be a sniper type of ranger, or a "druid" ranger-- and just as a note.. Druid is a celtic thing. The celts don't exist in DR. So to say Druid, in game or out, is simply to communicate an idea, that this character is -essentially- DR's answer to a Druid. Atleast, in my opinion... But there are also Rangers who can be "Guardians"-- and this can be taken as to mean guardians of the forest, or guardians of travellers or whatever.. Thats up to you, yourself. But someone who plays a "druid" Ranger is probally gonna work their magic a lot more than a Sniper Ranger (and i am saying, if you are roleplaying, and not gaming. I suppose that's one of the assumptions of this post: You Roleplay DR, you don't Game DR.. ::whistles:: )
In any case, my own character is a Taoist Forester (eventually) and is quite a mix of various traditions.. but he is, by far, no Druid, nor a magic user ;)... Just my choice <g>... Anyways, off i go, see you in game ;)
