Hey folks,

In addition to the circle and other req's it seems you have to have a minimum stats requirement to get the beseech to seal. After questioning a GH they confirmed that the Ranger in question was doing the quest correctly but a minimum stat was not being met she would not say which one. My guess is intel or wisdom which is currently at a 22. Does anyone know what stat must be met and what the magic number is to complete this quest?

He's got over 150 Scholarship thats not it. It's definately a stat. I think the beseech to petrify has a skinning or stat min also. I had to cast HOL to get it. He's gonna raise the stats one notch at a time and keep checking til he meets the minimum. I'll let you know if you want it for your site Krin.

The one I'm looking for info on is the seal. But I'm thinking maybe there is more to getting some of these beseeches then what most websites have listed. I was just using my experience with the petrify quest as an example. There may be minimum stat req's or a skill req thats unknown. For petrify the first time I tried I got the "you need more skill" message. I went out cast HOL and tried again and everything went fine. I don't know if I needed a little more skinning or if HOL boosts a stat. Sorry didn't mean to confuse ya!

It may just be that the quest mechanics ignore boosters and look only at your base ranks. The req is definitely 112, based on people who did or did not get it, looking at their scholarship ranks.

Plus my own experience backs it up ... Starting at mid 90's in scholarship, I tried getting it every time scholarship ranked. When I hit 112, I was successful.

also Krin, speaking of CJ, you might want to add a possible perception factor and definite foraging factor to beseech water to solidify. Last week Jalika and I were discussing theories and then she was able to get it with WS and foraging CJ, but not WS alone. just an fyi if you didn't already know.

The solidify quest is wonky. I don't care what Paklin says, either there is a random factor involved or one of the variables it looks at gets messed with by another system somewhere along the line (kinda like what was happening to sniping when Damissak couldn't figure out why it was so messed up until he found that cross-system problem).

I couldn't get it, went back and tried again (with NO change in ANY skill or stat) and got it. With no changes in any of my skills or stats, why would I fail one time, succeed the next, unless something is buggy or there's a random factor?

Ranger bonus? If anything it went down during that time because I wasn't doing anything to boost it, was only walking around and even spent a bit of time in the city. So perhaps bonus is part of the equation and it's figured in backwards, which would fall under the buggy category.

Anyone that has gotten this beseech want to share info/compare notes? I am at 112 scholarship, 32 wisdom, 31 intelligence.

Thanks for the info Ariwin. Maybe this is another beseech quest where I have to destroy my bonus, like I did with the solidfy one. Or maybe I'm doing the wrong thing? I'm studying the fossil.

Climbed down, studied the fossil 3 times, bob's your uncle I got it. Don't know what else it could be honestly, hope it works out for ya though, best of luck with it Asterid.>

Last time I tried, I had a full bonus. Time before that I had 110 scholarship and used a Cloudcrest CJ. Im really baffled. Currently, Im 66th circle. I have 112 scholarship. I have 31 int, 32 wis, and 34 disc. I spoke with a certain, cute, elfish, GM a moment ago about this. She led me to believe I needed more scholarship, or a CJ. Im really kind of puzzled though. You used a Cloudcrest CJ at 90s scholarship. I used one at 111, I have more int, wis and disc. You got the beseech at 50th. Im now 66th.

OK, that's just wierd, then. Perhaps something changed in the move over to DR2? Either that or somehow all the people I got test data from before must have had stats more similar than I thought. <ponders> Beats me, this is why I can't stand it when the GM's just leave it for us to freaking guess then sit back there behind the curtain laughing at us while we blunder around in the dark.

It's all cool the first few months but after that they can help us out. Paklin and Edahla should take a page from the Cleric GM notebook ... recently a release post was accompanied by a list of what skills and stats were involved, just no indicator of how they were related to each other in the formulas or what requisite ranks might be attached. But knowing what skills and stats to look at in the first place is a BIG help.

But I can't even get Paklin to give me that information for WotP. <mutter>
