Hey there folks! I was bored so I decided I?d try to do a little testing on mental stats. I have two brand spanking new novices with identical stats. I choose 10 across the board to nullify any oddities and I went with a human to eliminate any racial bonuses. I also joined the same guild. I tried everything I could to keep them identical. I used these as my base model to make sure individuals out of the character manager didn?t have any difference learning. I taught them as opposed to having them repeat a task so I could standardize the amount of experience given.
The experiment:
I took both novices out the gate to a secluded spot and taught them each heavy edged until they both mindlocked. I had taught about 7 minutes. Then I stopped teaching. They popped into hiding and waited for it to clear. This is my base.
Novice A gained: Heavy Edged: 7 10.53% clear
Novice B gained: Heavy Edged: 7 10.61% clear
I'm going to explain the 8/1000 of a rank as the difference in time it took for me to start the girls listening.
Both Novices swapped guilds and rejoined the Ranger guild (cause it?s the best) and so they start out at 0 ranks again. Novice A kept her stats the same (10 across the board) and Novice B raised her wisdom 5 points, giving her 15 in wisdom and 10 elsewhere. Then I taught them exactly 5 minutes(I made a little script that stopped my teaching at that time), stopped teaching, they popped into hiding again and waited for it to clear.
Novice A gained: Heavy Edged: 5 34.84% learning (163 minutes)
Heavy Edged: 5 37.66% clear (183 minutes)
Novice B gained: Heavy Edged: 5 59.21% clear (163 minutes)
During the second drain I noticed the pulse sizes were quite a bit larger for novice B with the larger wisdom. As for the difference in end results, perhaps either wisdom allows for greater returns on experience or the bucket analogy is still best. You mind is like a bucket, the water is the experience and the hole is the drain to actual ranks. Wisdom makes the hole bigger, thus the larger pulse sizes but what if there are other holes also. Like the bucket has leaks and the longer the experience is sitting there the more seeps away into nothingness causing the difference between Novice A and Novice B. What do you think? Tomorrow I?ll do intelligence and then discipline and see what I get. I may try other stats as well, charisma maybe?
That was almost as mindless as finding a pulse rate for foraging!

Great job Calissa, if there is any way to do it, I would recommend however doing more then 5 levels of a stat. If possible, rather going to 20. That way the result, especially for discipline will be a bit more noticable. I too look forward to your results.
