In the past it has been told to me that never carry your burden into combat it will get you killed. I decided to try a little something. Laeorna, the love of my life, was haveing a hard time training her leather skill in bloodwolves. It was moving rather slow. So I gave her my bundle of snow goblin hides. It was a full bundle and her burden was crazy, but within minutes it locked. Now I would say normaly maybe its my imagination, but she danced with the wolves for 20 minutes with only a slight change. After 3 minutes of heavy burden training, it locked nicely. Maybe this is no secret but I thought I would share my discovery. It was facinating to me.

I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him.

<<Probably because you guys were getting hit (Harmless, grazing). Train shield, and you'll not need to endanger yourself that way.>>
There are two efficient ways to train an armor: get hit while wearing it, or use a shield. The first one is obviously dangerous. As to the second...
When you block an attack with a shield, you get experience both in shield usage and in whatever armors you happen to be wearing. I can sit for three minutes with a shield out against a creature at-level and lock both shield and leather, even though I was not being hit at all.
