So this has a place of its own - though its not REALLY an alteration - and so we don't muck up other threads with them.

Post your totem! Here's mine (Peri'el)

a fine-grained lacewood king snake totem

A set of sharply-pointed ruby teeth protrude from the king snake's jaw, seemingly ready to bite off any offending fingers that wander too close. Its body is covered by bright-edged overlapping bronze scales that catch even the faintest light, displaying a scintillating light show whenever the totem is turned. The eyes are a pair of perfectly clear crystals, shining brightly with hidden wisdom. The king snake's body is twisted into an attractive yet symbolic S-like shape.

a well-polished willow ram totem

A perfect set of round-faceted emerald horns grow from the ram's head, flawless in every minute detail. Finely-detailed grassy green emerald hooves decorate the tips of its tiny legs. The eyes are a pair of round cut amethysts, shining brightly with hidden wisdom. The ram's coat is covered with golden markings that have patterned themselves after what appears to be the setting sun.

One of Meraud's many followers-

a fine-grained yew wolf totem

Protruding sharply from the wolf's feet, slender emerald claws seem poised to rend the very air. Its tail is covered with pink coral fragments in a spiraling pattern that seems to shift subtly with every movement. The eyes are a pair of polished jade chips, shining brightly with hidden wisdom. The tail of the wolf is pointed out and slightly curled, as if it were caught mid-wave.

I'll post my most interesting one, since I haven't seen many of this type:

You get a sturdy maple shrew totem from inside your leather backpack.

You notice a soft glowing aura about the shrew totem.

The shrew's eyes are a pair of glittering star rubies, shining brightly with hidden wisdom. Its tiny translucent quartz nose seems wrinkled, as if caught in the act of sniffing about. A long pair of thin polished topaz fangs protrude from the mouth, complete with tiny emeralds to symbolize venom.
