Can someone please explain to me why, recently, more and more people have been speaking with exaggerated spaces? I hear it in normal speech and in gweth thoughts. It's something that's never made sense to me either. A few examples of what I'm talking about:

Joe asks, "So (add 10 spaces here) what's goin on?"
or
Your mind hears Joe thinking, "Can anyone tell me (add 10 spaces here) where to find (add 10 spaces here) the bank?"

What happened to using a comma? Or using ...

P.S. Sorry to have added the add 10 spaces thing, but the first time I posted (using actual spaces) they didn't come through in the post.

It is a new way to show pauses in conversation.



Basicly, however long they lay on the spacebar shows the actual pause.



Soon a guide is being drawn up, to show a screenlength-to-timepause on the spaces, remember, 'soon'.
