While taking a nice slow trek down the streets of Crossing one day. I happened to spy a piece of parchment attached to a wall. The piece of paper was stuck to the wall with what looks like a dart. Curious as to what it might say I moved closer to study the fine script carefully.

*Wanted, Elves, Elotheans, Half Elven humans and all that would be sympathetic to an Elven cause. By my hand this 185th day of the year of the Emerald Dolphin, 369 years since the Victory of Lanival the Redeemer.

No such thing as a half elf. When a human and an elf.... do the wild thing.... the child conceived is either human OR elf. There is no such thing as a happy median, if you get where I'm going. At least, that's what I've heard from every other player in DR. I presume that it's in a book or some GM said it.

Lanival was a "half-elf."

You're both right. Offspring of Elf-Human pairings are wholly one or the other. They are still half-breeds, though, since they have cross-racial parents. They are just not a physiological meshing.

Anyway, he asked for half-Elven Humans... that would be a Human who has one Elven parent.

Anyway... as far as people being sympathetic to an Elven cause, there's no reason to assume that Elotheans in general would be sympathetic to the Elves. The Mountain Clan is friendly with the Houses because of the geographical and political ties with Shard, but that wouldn't necessarily carry through to the other clans. I know people in almost every race that would be sympathetic to the Elves... it all depends on what your cause is.

Half Elf in reference to those that are 'Human' and RPing being half Human/half Elven. Even though you 'look' human you can still claim to have an Elven heritage. DR does not recognize the race 'Half Elf' thats why I put Half Elven Humans (did not forget the comma). Any Humans sympathetic are included in that 'general' group after that.
(saw the later post about missing the 'human' part and its ok, many see 'half elf' and go wait a minute).

True.

<<as far as people being sympathetic to an Elven cause, there's no reason to assume that Elotheans in general would be sympathetic to the Elves. >>

True, but was told by an Elothean that members of thier race might be inclined to help.

<<I know people in almost every race that would be sympathetic to the Elves... it all depends on what your cause is.>>

No one who is willing to help and RP (main goals...RP and have fun) will be turned away. Though if you are involved with a group IG remember this might reflect on your group.

On asking Elotheans to join, I can see why BLONG's character would assume that they would assist in an Elven cause.

In the two race wars of Elanthia, Elves and Elotheans have fought side by side, they share a homeland and both of the races have a feeling of being first in the gods minds. One race thinking it was sprung from the thoughts of the gods and the other thinking that because it was the first race and longest lived it is the best race.

My character, Mordiazi feels that Elotheans are the brother race to the Elves and acts accordingly.

I know this is an old post, but my character is a circle 12 Ranger who has one elven parent. I really like DR, but I want to roleplay, not just train, hunt, train, hunt, you get the picture.
