I recently got a request to put together a Player's Choice Awards for 2012, soooo...
Below are a list of categories -- When you get some time please list off some nominations for some or all of the categories! Once we have a good selection for each category I'll put up a survey where we can all formally vote.

Player Awards:
Player of the Year: Traim - Took over a Commander position and put together a nice group of people. Does events to keep people involved. Always up for finding ways to RP and make it fun for everyone.
New Player of the Year: Eyuve - I hope I spelled that right. Not sure if she is "new" but her character was new to me this year. Cool, freaky, spooky RP.
Forum Poster of the Year: Leilond - Not even close.
Roleplayer of the Year: Ogdaro - Idon Raider to the hilt. He "gets it" when playing a "bad guy". Seriously folks, step out of your normal names and think about this award. A ton of people are good RP'ers, but our(my) schtick is old. Ogdaro brought a fresh face to "bad" and I enjoy just being around his play style.
Up-and-Coming Roleplayer of the Year: I like Uthgaar for this one. I think he went from "normal paladin" to really trying to carve his own RP path this last year. I enjoy hearing his updates when we visit.
Player-Run Event of the Year: You know, I will be a homer but I rather enjoyed the Engagement Joust put on by the Theren units for Madigan and Valynn. Classy and well done.
Best Attitude of the Year: Marsais - Change of career, leave the realms and did it with style and class.
Good Guy/Girl of the Year: Klurn - Took over the Theren Guard and brought stability to that group. Always up to defend the weak and so forth.
Bad Guy/Girl of the Year: Since Ogdaro already has one vote from me, I am going with Pariah on this one. The reasons should be self-explanatory.
Fight of the Year: Necromancers vs. Theren. For individuals, the best fight I saw all year was Madigan vs. Leilond. A bit of a homer pick, but that was one heck of a fight.
Long Term Feud of the Year: N/A.
Crafter of the Year: Kraggor.
Favorite Returning Player of the Year: Martye and Rambliin.
Most Missed Player of the Year: Marsais.
Craziest Player of the Year: Bralinson (not the current owner).
Married Couple of the Year: Liurilias and Sendithu.
Most Dangerous Character of the Year: Vinjince and Squanto.
Best Dressed Character of the Year: Sesi (honorable mention to Ruea).
Renaissance Man/Woman of the Year: N/A.

I liked Kantons, too. It had a good mix of fighting and puzzles taking place at the same time, so people who liked puzzles could do puzzles and people who liked fighting to fight. Any issues I had with it were mostly instance/situation specific, but I'm not going to ignore all the positives I felt about it just because of the thing I didn't.

going backwards from now using stuff I've done and heard about.
-Severed hand thing running around Haven.
-Tralef stealing Garnaal's moonsilver supply, and her general shennanigans.
-Viggu's ongoing breed em and eat em (in no particular order) program.
-El'palzi insurgents, and their slight change in command?
-The recovery party sent to Fang Cove for the stranded merchants and sailors, as well as on-going repairs and renovations to the Isle.
-The Necro couple(one exploded and walked) and the assassin that were running around; dropped these cauldrons that spewd poison gas. They killed people and dug up bodies, carved them with Necro symbols, and hung them all around Zoluren. There was eventually a cleansingy ritual and sort of vigil, then we threw all the bodies on a few pyres and burned them. (I can't recall their names at the moment)
-does the Wyvern Trials count?
-Finding and making parts to rebuild the giant mechanical spider
-Building of the new Estate complex HQ
-pirate 'queen' Yhur attacking a few places. He even put himself up on the WM grimoire.
(this is about a year ago)
-Uwressari's exotic blunders tent fire
-Searching for and trying to figure out how to get into Viggu's lair. Stupid stupid orc door.
-Dragon!

I'll jump in and try to make some different nominations from Madigan, where I can. I do heartily agree with him on some, but I'll save that for the voting.
Up-and-Coming Roleplayer of the Year: Rileos. Recent addition to Shard, great personality, and a unique take on his guild. If I can do two, I'll also nominate Coulin.
Player-Run Event of the Year: Loved the two "war game" events, the one in Shard set up by Traim and the one in Crossing set up by Vinjince.
Most Missed Player of the Year: Terra.
Craziest Player (Character?) of the Year: Lasciel. (I don't know about the player, but the character is certainly insane.)
Married Couple of the Year: Traim and Ruea.
Most Dangerous Character of the Year: Ogdaro.
Best Dressed Character of the Year: Ruea.
Festival of the Year: Guildfest. I was really impressed with the stepping up of the alteration service there.
Event of the Year: Necromancer Sejaro (and his lady love, whose name I forget) + boiling poison and bone golem invasions.
Empath of the Year: Dianelle.
Moon Mage of the Year: Miskton.
Thief of the Year: Osus.
Trader of the Year: Dutosa. I might be biased on this one, but I think he has a great and focused RP, and he's really put himself at the center of the Ilithi economy.

New Player of the Year: Coulin. He's new to me but he's commited and solid with his RP and I love the consistancy of the character
Forum Poster of the Year: Leilond! He's always a ray of light and coming up with great polls and questions like this, plus offering helpful advice without being snarky or holier than thou in his responces. Nothing but respect for his sweet approach to things.
Roleplayer of the Year: Sesi. I love the depth to her character, the struggle she deals with in regard to her loyalty and always putting a pretty face forward.
Up-and-Coming Roleplayer of the Year: Dutosa! He's fantastic and solid and consistant, and I LOVE consistant RP
Player-Run Event of the Year: The opening of the Apostles house, fo sho
Best Attitude of the Year: Squanto. No matter how often people overlook his bulging biceps for his pink pants or he eats it on the Ice Road, he's sunshine and roses.
Good Guy/Girl of the Year: Traim. I'm not biased! Despite walking into a hot mess and very little Tower help, he's taken the militia to a level of serious awesomeness, and has managed to maintain a solid pro-Ilithi mindset without becoming a simpering supplicant or some sort of Disney style villian due to his status in Theren.
Bad Guy/Girl of the Year: I'm going to give this to Lasciel, because when that girl raises a ruckus, all the boys come to the yard.
Fight of the Year: The fight between Madigan and Traim was probably my favorite. That one's baised, sue me.
Long Term Feud of the Year: DR vs. Evro
Crafter of the Year: Zozuzkar! Thank you for my pretty armor!

Fight of the Year: Keishalae and Malzard. Although it was a little one-sided, it was hilarious when she got out the Malzard doll.

Most Missed Player of the Year: Serchah and Drevid both.
Most Dangerous Character of the Year: Serchah. Anyone who can make you laugh while beating your character into unconsciousness is dangerous.
Most Knowledgeable Character of the Year: Ogdaro.
Barbarian of the Year: Ogdaro. Congrats on 150th, by the way.
Warrior Mage of the Year: Starlear. I don't see very many WMs who seem to live up to the guild's ideals, instead of just blowing up everything in sight.
Good Guy/Girl of the Year: Drexella.

Osus I'd argue is one of the better run characters as far as being a Thief in-game, I haven't bumped into game much, but from what I've over heard, and gathered from forum posts and what not he's playing the part well.
That doesn't mean necessarily you like his character, heck you may despise him, but I'd also argue that would be true of a properly run Necromancer, or on the flip side, that Necromancers and possibly Thieves should feel that way about some of the better run Clerics and Paladins.
