I like the idea of Ambika as RP items. I worry that, even with updated items, they would be kind of not-as-great, because a lot of players use lumium, kertig, haralun, etc. higher tear gear, and the GMs just can't put that out for average Joes to purchase, which means the set-piece on the items get lost almost at the word go.

So I end up wanting more fluff oriented shops. Can I vote for 'all the old versions of Edword's? A lot of his shops from the Ice fest, Eluned fest, temple reopening, have cool stuff.

Honestly it would be nice to see all fest gear get a glance over when it comes to stats, it'd be nice if everything had stats comparable to high steel at least, but that seems a bit beyond the purview of the thread a bit.

Ours is mostly utility stuff like belt knives and some gear to manage SO for chars for whom that's a problem, not really weapons or armor. I think Thieves have had merchants with plenty of that kind of stuff in the past though; fake cambrinth, special dirt purses, that kinda thing. Seeing the fake cambrinth merchant come back would be interesting, though of negligible usefulness nowadays considering the pointlessness of hiding being a Thief anymore. I think Thieves also originally had the containers with pockets in them?

LOL Do you even know how much sense it would make to have a passive concentration booster like mages have mana regen, or like vit healers. Or how about items that reduced heat from stealing, or items that reduced hindrance while carting around all your crap from stealing.

I've yet to ever see a special dirt pouch other than the ones in the plain thief shop in the guild. Fake camb? sure... Except that anyone can see thieves aren't magical... How about an item that shows a fake arcane aura. And containers with pockets in them? What? What is the point of that? It's possible I remember but have blocked it off.

I think to the teeth was actually a plat-specific vendor, from before the crafting rewrite, since making weapons/armor was less about using the system, and more about understanding how to abuse bugs and mechanics.

Maybe it was a different shop then.

Though I think the plat only one did get accidentally dropped in prime once, and no one noticed for a day. Probably have to wait for Tev or someone who does Plat to comment.

The Platinum shop I know about is Over the Edge, not that one. Didn't even know about that one intended to be Plat only.
