Would be nice to have a new whisper verb, where it shows you are whispering to so and so, for IC use. Than a second verb such as oocwhisper, used for OOC whispers.
IC whispers:
What others see
Tom leans over and whispers something to Bob.
What Bob sees
Tom whispers quietly to you,
Add over verbs to that:
whisper bob glance sally
Tom leans over and whispers something to Tom, while glancing quickly at Sally.
whisper bob nod sally
Tom leans over and whisper something to Tom, and nods slightly at Sally.
Maybe add other verb options to the IC whisper too, Wink, wave, laugh, ect.
And then use OOCwhisper as a verb too
OOCwhisper:
What others see
NOTHING!
What Bob sees
Tom whispers OOC to you,

I would like the option to toggle visible/invisible whispers. Anyone know why some whispers are seen and some aren't? As a performer whispers are very helpful for giving cues and suggestiong, but not if the audience can be distracted by them.

preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate and martini in hand, body thoroughly worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

As far as I know, it is not a matter of your reception (and thus something set-able) but a matter of the person enacting the 'whisper' command choosing to use the potional syntax 'whisper (visible) <person> <message>'.
So, as long as you are using 'whisper' for such a purpose, do not put in the visible toggle and you will not be seen.

well that and it's bugged at the moment. or at least it was...
If you have 2 or more characters in teh room whose names start with the same letter, e.g. Molly and Mandy...
Then for some reason it'll show it as visible, regardless of whether or not you intended for the whisper to be visible.
