I've been backstabbing rockies for some time now and while I am still learning good things are noticeably slowing down in the learning process, not enough to really move yet but enough that I'd like to know what would be the next best critter to move to to learn backstabbing and stealths. Both my hiding and stalking are almost 100 ranks each, backstabbing now passing 80. I tried gargoyles. While I managed to kill one gargoyle by brawling, I couldn't sneak up on it well enough to backstab it.

What Nikpack said: Cap out what the sandies can teach you, hunt silver leucroes for a few more defenses, then come back down to annoy the swains.

You don't need a bipedal creature to train stealths and backstab. You can learn very well by using the ambush <bodypart>. You can try grave worms on the manor grounds near leth, blood wolves up in the theren area.
