Thursday night, Ainandil got caught in my pockets. He's bigger than me, so I send the thugs. He figures it out and I tell him it was nothing personal.
Today, I'm afk in the clerics guild:
Bluntmaster Ainandil just arrived.
Ainandil hiccups.
Ainandil says, "Like, totally, OMG." (insert RPA)
Ainandil says, "Apology accepted."
Ainandil smiles at you.
Ainandil gestures at you.
Your black-leucro leathers is slightly damaged.
You fall to the ground as your back explodes in a shower of blood and bits of bone.
* Sebastienne was just struck down!
You feel your awareness of the world around you return to normal.
Your death cry echoes in your brain as it quickly dawns on you that you have just died! Already, you feel the tug of eternity upon your spirit and you struggle to remain tied to this world.
You are somewhat comforted that you have gained favor with your God and are in no danger of walking the Starry Road, never to return.
Your body will decay beyond its ability to hold your soul in 200 minutes.
An empath fixes me up, Ainandil rezzes me and I probably would have called it even until this:
Ainandil whispers, "Next time be more careful about who you thug... some Clerics are friends of the Guild, little mistress."
whisper ainandil I will thug anyone that hits my pockets. You are no friend of the guild unless Kalag tells me so, and he has not.
You whisper to Ainandil.
I thought to myself, this guy is telling a guilded thief who they can and can't thug, and claiming to be a sanctioned "friend of the guild". That's pretty bad, so I went to the Haven, hoping to find a big thief to discuss this with, didn't see anyone. I'll try again later I guess. Then I decide I'll start with the man himself. And:
report to Kalag the Black: A few days ago you graciously dispatched thugs at my request to deal with Ainandil, a cleric who thought he had permission to steal from the wolves. A scant hour ago I was murdered by this
fool, and then warned by him to watch who I thug, as some clerics are "friends of the guild".

report I implore you to make him regret his arrogance.

It turns out Kalag doesn't care (thanks buddy!), but I'm hoping my fellow thieves will. I'll be trying to rally some support in game. This is more than just a kill for a kill, this is a slight to the guild, and I'm going to flex my hate!
Ainandil, I am coming for you!
And a note those who would tell me about policy: I know he killed me unconsented, I don't care, I won't report for it. I never do. I want this done as IC as possible.

Yeah, I'd like to know whose sorry you-know-what consider you their friend, Ainandil. Valcer, maybe?
You're nothing but a poor man's Ragran with a trifling case of self-absorption.
Nobody thinks you have wit or that your banter is particularly enjoyable. Not anyone, much less your "friends" in the Thieves Guild.

Dunno if you're aware of this when you posted, but "Report to Kalag" is actually what's been taught to us a couple years back in handling Thieves outing guild secrets and such, rather than taking matter to our own hands.
I assume the OP interpreted this as an IC tool to handle thiefly affairs. I can't find strong reasons to disagree with it since you are reporting to KALAG specifically, afterall.
< With the speed and temerity of a pouncing cougar, a stuffed kitten ambushes you. You fail to evade, failing miserably. The stuffed kitten lands a harmless strike to the your chest.

Correct. I stated in my original post I would not take this OOC, and I told the GM I spoke to that I didn't want Ainandil busted for an unconsented attack. It's not how I play.
Kalag told me he would leave it to me to handle as I see fit. So now I'm rummaging in my bag of dirty tricks, because I can't take him fairly...and who wants to anyway.

I like it. Gms have said to use the report to kalag method when it comes to thuggings in situations like this anyway. Besides, sounds like a GM thugging is exactly what the guy needs. Its happened plenty of times, trust me.

Umm.. and what are you doing on the thief forums, where I frequent, as someone who playes a thief prime?

Here, let me fix that for you.

You get the idea, at least.
