With us having what I consider a fairly significant mech lore req, especially at high circles for a nonprimary skillset, I was wondering if lockpick carving mech lore could be looked at again. The teaching percentages with each lockpick carved goes down with every lockpick carved in a set period of time. I have noticed almost every other form of mech lore training teaches a consistent value no matter how many times the action is performed ie crushing things in a mortar, scraping hides, origami, and braiding. I cant think of any reasons why lockpicks are different.

Agreed why should our only realistic player craftable item have penalized experiance modifiers? Seriously seems like there going out of there way to demoralize us at this point.

Because we don't want people just making billions of them solely for the experience and completely devaluing our only guild product. Oh wait, too late.

I have actually had trouble keeping up with demand on lockpicks lately. And my incentive to carve is limited because I learn such small amounts of exp and I can make more stealing without having a limited exp gain. I also think the union set price of 4 gold has more or less solved the devaluing of lockpicks. As a matter of fact I have seen lockpicks selling for 5 gold lirum in Haven lately and selling quite nicely in fact. So as far as the exp gain I feel its time to reconsider this aspect of mech lore teaching with lockpick carving.

Don't carve 20 at one time. You still learn fantastically carving 5 at a time or even 10. Carve a few, do something else, carve a few more. The experience was set up intentionally to slow down the nonstop carving of lockpicks, and it looks to be working well. If you want money AND experience, carve wisely, if you want money, carve quickly.
