I was told by a few people in the experience folder to post this here. Sorry for the duplicate posts.
I have so many questions about all of these new releases I don’t know where to start. For the sake of simplicity I am going to jot the main ones in this post instead of throughout all the forums.
As a mid level thief all these changes scare me.
Inner magic and khris:
How exactly is the new inner magic going to work with our khris. As I understand it Khris boost the skills we already have by a percentage, (just like magic buffs do) but use concentration instead of magic ranks, timers, and thieves are limited to how many can be used at a time depending on their concentration.
Will the khris still have timers?
Will we still be limited to only using whatever khris our concentration can handle?
Armor evasion hindrance:
As a survival prime, armor tert, it is very hard to keep evasion in line with armor ranks. Will thieves be getting any (spells / khri / inner magic) to help with armor hindrance?
New combat system:
Will thieves be allowed to backstab with HE weapons anytime? I always trained le, me and offhand because they all will get to mind lock way before backstab does.
Will the rest of the new combat system be released with the new skill, magic, and lore systems? (ie stun, balance, attack modifiers) Maybe this is where the tactics will fall? Can someone please clarify this?
New skill list:
I’m sure you’ve all heard this till you are blue in the face, but being survival prime I’ve trained all the survivals, just for the tpds so I can use thief khri. Out of the survivals thieves were allowed to circle with (backstab, stealing, climbing, evasion, hiding, stalking, locks, disarm, escape, perception) 3 are going away and one is tediously hard to train. Of the ones we are not allowed to circle with (swimming, firstaid, animal lore, skinning, foraging) two are going away. What will be replacing these for us to gain tpds in future so we can use our khris? I know more lore and magic but that is in the secondary and tert skill set.
Forgive me if any of this has been answered already. This is just quite a bit to grasp at one time for me.

You will have one of the best, if not the best minimum hindrance penalty for leather armours out of any guild. Even if you don't decide to keep armour within the percentage range, you'll still be sitting very pretty hindrance-wise. If you want to take advantage of the minimum hindrance, you probably won't need more than about 80-85% of your evasion ranks worth of armour ranks (5-10% minimum hindrance estimate plus the 10% buffer.)
Also of note is the very low maximum hindrance penalty that leather armour will have. Leather's maximum hindrance is even less than minimum hindrance that any metal armours have. Even if you decide to skip out on armour training, you'll still be in better position hindrance-wise than anyone in metal armours, although protection will suffer.

"RAGE + TEAR + EYE + RESO + HARM + DRUM + MISD + PRIDE + Your choice of Cyclic + AoE stun/knockdown as needed without losing buffs = OMG! I just crapped my pants!" -Evran

>>Will thieves be allowed to backstab with HE weapons anytime?
No. That isn't goin to happen with this release. Don't think it will ever happen. We keep trying though.
ME will still be awkward but usable. Anything 30 stones and under with the correct edge on it, that are either ME/LE we will still be able to backstab with.
>>Will the rest of the new combat system be released with the new skill, magic, and lore systems? (ie stun, balance, attack modifiers) Maybe this is where the tactics will fall? Can someone please clarify this?
From what I understand, yes. Tactics are goin to be a combination of Multi/Parry/Shield (someone correct me if I am wrong, cause I normally am. LOL!). Or it will be a part of defensive combat. Which is why I believe that the new combat will be live once all this goes into effect in a couple of months.
Remember, its not something that is happening right next week. They are wanting to get things out by the end of Q1 next year, but not sure they will be able to.
>>Will the khris still have timers?
Yes. Khri should still have timers. Just like all spells will still have timers depending on cap on how long you can cast a spell such as ES.
>>Will we still be limited to only using whatever khris our concentration can handle?
Yes. Gotta be able to concentrate on each of our khri. We won't be able to just throw up 7 at once off the bat! I wish! :-p
Think of it like needing mana to put up spells. Without enough mana your not goin to be able to put up alot of defensive spells at once. If your in a low mana room, forget it. Not happening very quickly. I'm actually surprised its never been a combination of mana and concentration now that I think about it. Heh. But meh, things can change.
Without enough concentration, your not goin to be able to put up alot of khri.
At 200 in concentration I can put up 5 khri at once. I can't wait till I can put up more while hunting. My character will be a beast! :-P Eventually.
Hope that helps some.

Just to put things in perspective, at 100th circle my evasion is 103 ranks ahead of leather armour, which is only 3 ranks outside of the proposed gap we should try to maintain. I train defenses fairly heavily too so it is not as bad as it may seem.
