The cave is Stone Clan. The driver leads you to the Northeast Gate of Crossing too, if you lead to Crossing, and to the gate of Arthe for that...
The driver is leading you to the "town" not the outpost.
I get irritated by it too, but as far as I know that's the reason.

Well, It would make sense if caravans were used for any other purpose other than trading... But it's not like people just use them to get around! But the caravans are for trading only, you would think they'd stop at the outpost.
And I can even understand with Arthe dale, going to the gate, and crossing, going to the gate...but in this particular case, he takes you two places (or more) PAST the actual outpost.
Sorry, I am a newbie at this, probably beating a stinky, rotting, and mostly decomposed horse. I'm sure you all understand. :)

G'day,

Actually, I think part of the original design of the game in the early days was that Traders would be sort of a safe method to travel. Slower than going yourself but with some advantages. There used to be dangers on the NTR that would go after folks who were travelling alone but wouldn't bother a caravan. You still see at least one thing like that on the road to Leth where traders don't get caught in the webs on the road down there when the caravan is leading. To see what I mean, type HELP CARAVANS in game sometime. :)

Intresting. I wonder if the idea might ever come back. Probably not, necessary since most travel in itself isn't very dangerous so long as you move quickly enough.

Travelling with a caravan is not safe during invasions. I was acompaning a couple caravans durring one of the recent invasions, as a guard for them, travelling between arthe dale and Crossings, stepped into a room and lost my head instantly to the invader there, fortuanately the two traders I was with got through unscathed and were able to continue their trade while I got dragged out by someone else and got my memmories back.

that was the original intent. no longer holds true though.
that being the case, the removal of that damn web thing on the STR would be a good idea. especially since it not only doesn't do anything except annoy people, it doesn't teach escaping and is unavoidable EXCEPT by caravans or by sneaking thru the room.

A scavenger troll arrives, scouring the area.
The scavenger troll exclaims, "I dinks I like da' Moongate!"
The scavenger troll bends over and picks up the Moongate. After appraising it, the troll places the Moongate in its frayed knapsack
