To my shame (and my PC crashing) I lost my caravan and two loads for delivery. I, ofcourse, hold my hands up and accept responsibility for the "behaviour" of my little grey box. I assisted, but was told there was nothing DR could do about it, which I accept. What I would ask, is if someone could tell me what the reprocussion of my loss will be like? Do I get a fine for loss of caravan and produce? Do I get banned from trading in the area I was in when I lost the caravan?

I would be most grateful of any advice.

You're supposed to get a 2 gold fee for losing the caravan (although I'm not sure if the game ever actually assesses this fee - every time I killed a caravan I don't think I paid the 2 gold). You won't be able to trade again at the outposts which issued you the contracts which you did not deliver, until those contracts expire. Once they expire you can keep trading again like normal. Right now, there is no penalty on future contracts for failing to deliver previous contracts or from losing a caravan.

they will have you drawn and quartered and flayed, then driven by wild yaks all the while being tortured by the ghosts of yaks present, past and future.....

seriously though, no, you'll get a bit of a hit to your trader bonus so you might get some lower contracts for a bit, and will have to pay something to the guild for the loss of their caravan. < i think its a gold or 2>, the clerk will tell you next time you rent a caravan or pak animal how much.

1 of three things can happen in with a lost caravan.

1) the caravan and crates are gone.
2) the caravan and crates are gond and you get charged 2 gold.
3) you get back in time and the caravan has been returned to the guild.

with 1 and 2 there is nothing that can be done.

with the third scenario when you get back in game type <tell my caravan to follow> if you get the message back you have nothing to command you fall under 1 or 2. if you get back you must be in the same room to command your caravan then you got lucky and go ask the nearest clerk for your caravan.

Hello,

I lost my caravan in the crash earlier today. I logged on and it was not back, so I assisted and was told to wait 30 minutes and assist again. I waited 30 minutes but then had to leave for a bit. I logged back on later and assisted again, but there have been no staff members on and it has been a good long time. I imagine some of my contracts have expired and the others are well on their way. I haven't lost a caravan in a crash in many years, and even then it popped back in sans issue, so I cannot remember exactly what happens. Can the GMs fix my expired contracts? Will the fact that they have expired have any negative repercussions? There are still no staff on duty and I need to leave soon, and will not be able to return until sometime tomorrow. I am hoping this will not be a problem?

I am sure a GM will be able to answer all of this tomorrow, but I am easily frazzled and posting is cathartic. :)
