Now that the festival craziness is winding down, any chance of a general timeline on Trader magic?

I know someone (Raesh?) very recently said that the Warding rewrite will likely be on his plate in December, and since the planned Trader spell list looks to be ward heavy it seems to be a good bet that things will begin to move forward more concretely after that point?

The reason I ask is that as we all know Trader combat sucks currently, and I'm getting tired of being a punching bag for things that other guilds would breeze through at the same ranks.

We were hoping "Spring" but that's basically throwing a dart at this point.

Since Socharis's passing we've had some significant shuffling around of staffing and resources. Some of that is good for the Trader Magic timeline, some of it isn't. Some of it we just haven't had the discussions yet to figure out where it leaves us. Keep in mind, Socharis was planning on doing a fair bit of the work on the core to support trader magic (And that's a huge amount of code to update) so that aspect is going to need to find another home.

Thanks for the appraisal of the situation.

It's easy to forget just how much Socharis meant for every aspect of the game.

Yeah. The list of things I can say with certainty he wasn't involved in in any way is very short.

Even things he had otherwise had nothing to do with he was still the go to guy for technical snarls or just to help refine random ideas.

Even just access to use scrolls would be a huge help.

Hoping for a new general ETA for this, since Spring came and went. Raesh's post in the Moonie folders about the look of Lunar magic made me think about this.

I've been burned too many times on giving timelines and missing them.

At this point I'll commit to it being the most likely major project I tackle after barriers launch and one smaller magic project (That would create quite a bit of work if it's not done before Trader magic).

I think having 1 spell for each skill, for training purposes alone, would go a really long way to making this guild feel more complete.

Bonus points for a unique skill/spell that doesn't cost money to use.
