had cats growing up, and a few other - goldfish, 2 canaries, and 2 different dogs, both collies.

the most we had at any time though was when I was in high school. My sister had brought home a cat from college <male>, and we had taken in a stray <female> well, they had 5 kittens. We got the parent cats "fixed" afterwards, and managed to find homes for 2 of the kittens as soon as they were weaned. However, we were left with 1 male and 2 females, besides the now neutered parents. We had them in seperate areas with a "gate" inbetween.... wouldn'tcha know though, the male figured out a way to escape and pay a visit to his 2 sisters... and we had .... more kittens.
