Aetherrific Evening,

Sorry I didn't get this out sooner, but I was away last weekend. Anyway, we had a nice meeting a week and a half ago Sunday. I was joined by Ezmundiuz, Enchante, and Zapfest. We just chatted a bit more about the Aether Pathway abilities.

I'm sensing that we don't really need to meet every other week, so I'm thinking about making the meetings only once a month, on the first Sunday of every month at the usual time. For now, anyway, our next meeting will be Sunday, March 7, at 10pm Eastern in the Aether Chamber of the Crossing guildhall. The topic of discussion will be your favorite Aether spell and why. Let me know if you think monthly meetings will be harder for you to attend than biweekly.

Aw, Chakram. We know you'll come visit us, someday. Maybe even someday..."soon?"

It's possible. I try to make it, my schedule just sucks or things come up. If you do go to one meeting starting March there's a very good chance I won't make that one as I'll be out of the country for a couple weeks.

Not my fault... honest.

Aether cloak.

ES is used for other spells, but alone isnt that good. Aether Lance could be traded for any of other first tier TM spells and I wouldn't really care. Aether Lash never gets use due to LB being better for killing hard things, and FS better for training, and ALA also requires free hand (no shield <frown>). Fissure I don't have, but it could be useful.

Aether cloak just rocks. Defenses are something we are lacking, and AC provides great defense for TM. It would be cool if it helped contested spells as well (like shear, <drools>), because the majority of PvP consists of contested spells, but it does make you hard to locate too, which is pretty cool.

So yeah, AC gets my vote.

I just picked up Aether lash. I love it, honestly. LB takes too long to prep fully and it's useless inside.
I don't fight too many magic critters yet so I've not seen need for the cloak.
As often as not I get a one shot kill with ALA at 14 mana and it takes a max prep CL to wreck the same havoc. (But then, I've dumped a lot in my Charisma and I've not watched the weather. Maybe I'll test later)

I can't fire them. I hired these guys for three days a week and they just started showing up every day. That was four years ago

You are confused.

"wreck" is a noun. You mean "wreak".

Both CL and ALA are TM spells so stats don't matter as much....especially charisma as it is not much of a factor in TM spells.

Weather does not affect ALA. Weather does not affect CL. This is good because CL can be cast indoors.

Not confused, overworked.
Hate to wreak your day. ;)
I got my CL mixed with my LB, alas.
CL doesn't have the kill power yet that you can draw up, Tes.
LB's fun. I'll hold with ALA though. I just wish it were as accurate as GZ. Back to my cave.

Jerveth,
Cl is an awesome spell with superb damage at max prep and ap damage or ease i can easily clear a room of 5 or 6 critters and it teaches so very well right now. god knows how it will be after they nerf it to death

do i know you? <shakes his head> go find someone else to bother.

I love CL- softens up the targets nicely. It'll be a while before I drop the storms you folks can.

I'll probably pick up AC next. Shield has potential as a matrix for other higher spells (Holding other spells in stasis until triggered like a spell lattice for one thing)
Aether Lance I seldom use- nice against armored opponents but, like Tessaa says, other spells work better.
ALA is a fairly nice spell, but I think the potential for teaching should be better. I don't regret getting it- Nice range, decent damage for mana invested.
Planning to collect AC then Fissure and fill out my Aether Book.
Does anyone find Fissure actually useful as is: 14 minute duration, a constant decay rate, amusing attacks on certain critters, etc?

Hey Folks,

Do to a change in plans, I am no longer certain that I can make it to tonight's meeting. I might be there, but I might not. So, feel free to meet without me. Talk about Aether, and please send me a log. But I'd like to reschedule the official meeting for Sunday, March 14, at 10pm Eastern in the Aether Chamber of the Crossing guildhall.

So,

To reiterate, tomorrow night, wild horses would be unable to drag me away from hosting the meeting of the Aether Cabal. So drag yourself away from the fest in Theren, and meet us at 10pm Eastern in the Aether Chamber of the Crossing guildhall. The topic of discussion will be: "What is your favorite Aether spell, and why?" All are welcome. Come and meet our new mascot!
