It's a great spell, but I do have one major complaint. When you're using say, a tower shield, and you wear that shield in order to skin a critter, the spell wears off.
Is this by design? If so why?
It greatly reduces the effectiveness of the spell.
I can have an armworn shield.. technically I'm not holding it at that point, but wearing it. And it's all good.
My rant I guess is having to recast the spell jus because I decided to skin and loot something.

make it so it doesn't wear off when you wear it(the spell or an enhanced shield).. or maybe some kind of 10 second timer so you can drop it and skin and pick it back up
yeah that'd be nifty
its not so bad with armworn( specially if they take away shield hinderance ) but I can see how it can get annoying if your main shield is rather big.

Correct Aegis of Granite description on 09/06/2009 06:42 AM CDT
Okay, so i have to admit i'm pretty annoyed. After spending a few spell slots to finally get Aegis of Granite, i quickly learned that i will not be able to use this spell on my armworn shields. Please consider adding the word metal to the description of the spell. I was not aware of this limitation, nor do i see it listed anywhere.
This is the description that should be changed (add the metal descriptor):
> First, casting the spell on a metal shield will imbue it with Earth elemental magic, causing it to become sturdier and more protective at the cost of increasing its weight and hindrance.
Now i get to try to hunt down a rare small metal shield from a fest. Good times. (my hopes aren't high)
