Scholorship shrug. I can't see how scholorship should be a major part of
enchantments, mainly because I'm one of those hunter types, but
concentration seems like it would play an important part of any type of
high quality work.
Why not make it either scholorship or concentration to fill that slot in the
process, automatically taking whichever is higher?
hmmm a last second thought maybe some combination of the two?
Scholarship is the ability to read & learn instructions, which is presumably how it factors into Moon mage enchanting; and how it will factor into Warrior Mage enchanting, as we learn how to make some specialized (almost certainly single-use) tool needed to perform our enchanting.
Concentration is almost entirely based off of stats instead of skills, and should only have a bearing in burning it for performing activities, and in about the same way it gets used when we play with focusing runes. Otherwise, you are again basing enchantiung off of purely non-skill areas, but on how a player spends his (or her) characters TDPs.

There's no point in trying to make Gyren see the logic of non combat skills playing a role in a non combat activity, it's been tried time and again. So please, anyone else who feels the need to try to make Gyren see the light, resist the urge before we get another 30 post thread aruging about it, there's been like 10 already.

Why don't you see discussion as necessary for progress? I and others like me have one point of view.. and you and others like you have yours. To my understanding so far it's not written in stone how this will work yet. It has been said before that from discussion has sprung ideas that have been instituted by Simu for DR. I would think you'd be open to that now, as I'm sure Valdrik and his staff are looking here for ideas to help out in the production of this system. Please don't close this line of reason just yet. Besides, I'm becoming more open-minded everyday ;)

You apply the same viewpoint to everything though. There are certain areas where having 6 ranks of weapon a circle just won't really matter at all or as much as training 6 ranks of another skill a circle.
