I see that SHAPEing a weapon requires charge, but I'm not really seeing my charge drop over the course of a hunt where I rotate through weapons. Has anyone tested charge expenditure for various activities?
Additionally, I'm curious if people like using two handers - how's the shield penalty? This would be the only character I've trained that's armor tert and uses two handers, but man oh man are those elemental weapons amazing.

When I was playing my Warrior Mage I used elemental weapons exclusively aside from missile weapons obviously.
As a lowbie, charge use was definitely noticeable especially when comparing different elemental alignments. With earth alignment I was easily able to swap weapons fairly frequently at approximately 5 minute intervals and still have enough charge to be able to use pathways. Using a neutral alignment was noticeably harder to maintain charge with, although it was manageable as long as I only switched weapons after mind locking each one. Not ideal, obviously. With air alignment it was basically impossible. I would run out charge completely unless I foegoed the use of pathways. And even then it was effort to regain enough charge to afford switching weapons.
With earth I was using about 2 levels of charge each summon/shape, with a neutral alignment it was about 4 levels. With air it was a lot. I didn't bother to measure it since it was clearly too much.

Oh! I didn't realize that. That explains why all the pathways and infusions have an associated element. Aha.
So, do most warmies train ALL the melee weapons? Mine is trained in SE/SB/Brawling, but I'm currently backtraining 2he/2hb/he/hb/pole/staves/ht/offhand simply because elemental weapons are so awesome. How bad is the two handed penalty for an armor tert?

Just depends, really. I train them all. I've never noticed the two-handed penalty.

I am training everything except 2H-blunt, large blunt, and sling presently. I have a 2H-blunt and sling to add in at some point. Oh, and I am not back training everything else as I finally can use them in the area I hunt. I took a year to get to this point (and it is a little more than a year since I returned).
