Same returned WM player, new question. I figured a new thread was best to avoid a pages long thread for what are different questions.
I have been trying very hard to train magic while listening to classes and avoiding power-walking, which I might add seems to take like 10 minutes by itself to lock Attunement.
I've been using ETF primarily for my Utility/Augmentation training; I charge my armband for 10, concentrate, wait til I'm fully prepped, harness 10, and close the existing fissure just before casting. Doing this, by the time I run out of mana I reach about 14-17 or so in Utility and Augmentation (I'll try to re-test this when I arrive home from work.)
I can conserve mana by using symbiosis, but then I do not train Attunement or Arcana. I can fit more mana into ETF than I currently use, but then I run out of mana much faster. If I split my mana evenly between Attunement and Arcana they both seem to suffer equally and neither lock before my other magic skills have locked. I use AC for Warding training, generally a little before and a little after my Augment/Utility training.
TL;DR
Is there any formula or suggestions on how to train Attunement and Arcana?
Thank you for your assistance.

what rank range are we talking? If you're sub 300s, i'd not use etf to train arcana. attunement is a hard skill to move when casting without hitting your personal spell caps which drains the mana fast.
If you're 350+ ETF is great, but you need a decent mana room
Power walking is going to be your best attunement trainer either way, a great habit to get into is to power walk a few rooms every time you're going somewhere and not worry about locking, just keeping it moving.
when active training, mind lock doesn't matter, just movement of skills. save a mind lock power walk until you're about to log out for 6+ hours.

sorry for the double.
to train arcana, I used a random buff @ min prep and filled a wide armband with 5 or 10 mana each charge up to about 300 ranks.
might be a good idea to setup a script that casts different spells for each skill and just cycle through.
