This is a text of me casting fireshard at a bristle back peccary. Only things that were edited were the unecessary scroll from me checking my experience, assessing position, my leopard and some of my skills. Ive have provided some of my skills and stats to determine if they are the problem.

Its been storming the last day or so, so if you did the test then I am not surprised over the results. No matter what, I am sure everyone agrees that FB needs an uptweak.

Oh sorry, I missed that..
This multi-shot downtweak got me to think about APs. How about a high level pathway called duplicate. Whatever targetted higher tier spell casted will duplicate and create two shots.

Whenever you cast a spell at something there is a bit of contest. Offensive spells fall under spell vs statistic. If you failed a spell at X amount of mana you may need to harness Y amount more to overcome the MR. Problem here is.. with your charisma being as low as it is and it being a contested spell.. it takes you MORE mana to achieve the same effect as it would if you had more charisma.
Example (numbers aren't are for example only): Two mages cast same spell at same mana. Mage 1 has 19 charisma. Mage 2 has 25 charisma. Mage 1 casts at fresh critter and critter gets cuts and bruises. Mage 2 casts at fresh critter and critter gets deep cuts and bruises.
This may help you.

>>I went from 50% to 75% (Estimate) one-hit-kills with a two point jump on Charisma.
Was that increase just from stored TDPs, or did you circle as well? And did you train any other stats at the same time?
I am assuming that you are hunting the same creature, with maybe 1-2 skill ranks different, same mana level in your spell, same spell, same prep and target times, etc. And no differences in balance and/or relative position to the earlier casts.

Charima in itself doesn't cause more damage to the target. It helps you overcome the target's magical resistance more easily. The easier you overcome the target's resistance the less mana it takes to achieve the same effect.

Circled and dumped but night bargs do have some nice magic resistance.
I didn't know circle affected damage ability. True?

I can't fire them. I hired these guys for three days a week and they just started showing up every day. That was four years ago

I'm not sure I understand completely what you're saying. However...
If you're talking about Aether Pathway Ability Damage, I don't think circle affects it. Just mental stats (not including wisdom).
If you're talking about ability to deal damage with TM spells, I don't think circle affects this either. However, the main stat to help pure TM spells is discipline, and the secondary stats is agility.
Also, if you are unable to overcome the target's magic resistance fully, then this will make your TM spell weaker (less accurate for sure). I'm not sure which stats help to overcome a target's magic resistance, although it's possible that they all do (all stats contribute equally to generating magic resistance).
Few things are affected purely by circle. Concentration, barb dances, spell slots, ability slots, titles, kaith kirm competition bracket, and entrance to certain areas (rock trolls north of crossing, WM shop, etc.) are the only things I can think of off the top of my head that circle affects (read: not stats, but circle).

I raised my charisma by two points when I last circled.
Using pathway power before I circled I could kill a night barg half the time with a gar zeng.
After I circled, with the charisma raised, I started dropping night bargs 2 in three casts. (That is to say One shot, one kill)
I just made the statement, from my perspective, Charisma seemed to boost my damage ratio. Maybe it plays into the MR contest, maybe it was a lucky night for me hunting. If I analyze too deeply I'll just get disenchanted. (No pun intended)

You're exactly right. With the higher charisma you're overcoming the MR of the critter more easily. Since its not resisting as much as it was before you're able to deal more damage. Thats the point I was trying to make.
