I think I remember reading somewhere that armor hinderance has two different aspect, an evasion aspect, and a stealth aspect. Can anyone confirm this?

I'm wondering, if I can get my appraised hinderance down to insignificant, does that mean that I should be able to hide as if I have insignificant hinderance?

Is mixing armors incredibly detrimental to hiding, or wearing HP?

Once you have TC, your armor configuration really won't prevent you training hiding at all.

Hmm... okay. I guess I need to get that on the list then. I swear I'll get Lightning Bolt... one day. Heh.

As to whether or not my perceptions on hiding are correct though, are they?

YS will help stealth. This was proven by testing I did back when DR 2.0 was released. Back then, YS stacked on armor, so you could work the hinderance down exceptionally low. I was able to test hiding in full plate using buggy 0 hinderance plate and non buggy high hinderance plate. The 0 hinderance plate was eaiser to hide in than leathers which I'd worked the hinderance down on.

So, that leads me to believe the spell not only affects the hinderance, but also the stealth hinderance. It also leads me to believe that Plate can hinder less than chain (and maybe leather) given the right conditions.

The benefit of YS for stealth is still very obvious, even without buggy armor.

For instance, casting YS can decrease your hiding roundtime. It is also quite noticeable when hiding on critters near your capabilities.

Yes.

Use TC anyway, though.

SD too. I usually get 3 hide/stalk/ambushes in when I use both.

Is it the stun of TC that makes training stealth with it so easy? Or nerve damage, or what?

The stun. TC doesn't do any nerve damage.

All I am certain of is since the last changes to stealth/armor pentalties hidding is no longer an option for my WM who is a Plate wearer. I pretty much dropped my hidding at near 160 ranks with stalking at 145 :(

Mind you my HP is still not over 200 ranks that is where the penalties will be at minimum. I will try again at that point but under 200 ranks stalth is no go for my WM wearing Plate.

RM (rising mists) also helps with hidding.

ON a side note what the heck is TC?
