Hi! Silly question, hoping yall have some wisdom for me:
Heading back to Teras in a couple weeks and will be hunting the area with fire mages and fire sprites. Very fun.
While the obvious problems for me are the earthen furies and non-hiding areas, these mages seem to have a nice little "final attack" that they hit you with when they go down, inflicting a little bit of damage and a small wound.
Does anyone know how to play around this? I found that Illioke Shaman falling down on death can be mitigated by knocking them down, but I don't think the same applies to fire mages... (Or does it? I was lower level last time I was there, so it's possible I didn't knock them down first, though this seems unlikely).
Anywho, just seeking a little wisdom from anyone that hunts, or has hunted, the area.
thanks!

Ranger fire resistance can make it so you can't take worse than a minor.
I think I've heard of ways to stop it by not being visible when the death happens but I've never hung around on Teras for long enough after soul golems to test any of them. Things like Torment, Silent Strike, Blind, Searing Light, Sunburst all come to mind as possible ways of stopping them looking at you at the fatal moment.

If you hide, I assume you may be a rogue.
If you are a rogue (or warrior) and use a shield, get this:

Hi! Thanks for all the information! Level 63 ranger is what we're talking about. Sniping archer. They ~DO~ hit you from stealth! How mean!
I used fire resistance armor last time, and I did only get minors after I did it. I'll just go back to this tactic with my new 5x brig, and bring extra herbs to heal down the minors before it gets bad.
Thank you again everyone. You are so helpful!
