Weapon flares and weighting question on 12/17/2018 01:18 PM CST

What's the rule with having crit or damage weighting with flaring weapons? Is there a certain threshold that reduces the amount a weapon will flare? Are there diminishing returns on the amount a weapon flares with any weighting?

I know I read something about it when WPS came, but I don't remember the specifics. I tried search for it online and in the gswiki, but I can't find any specific information for what I'm looking for (or I've horribly overlooked it).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Only temporary flares like eblade are reduced with WPS and I believe they are reduced completely once you get to heavy crit weighting. Permanent flares are not affected.

Guiding light flares are also affected by a reduction in flare strength (or is it frequency?), and stop completely when a specific level of weighting is reached. This includes the permanent Guiding Light flares of a paladin-bonded weapon.
