A new event for Silvergate!

Four Nights in July Dart Tournament:

A dart tournament will be held during the month of July for Silvergate Inn members. The first sixteen Inn members who register before the deadline of midnight Eastern on June 30th will be participants in this new event. If much more interest in this event is shown by the members and we feel that we can fill 32 spots, we may do so and will notify all the registrants.

After all sixteen spots have been filled, a bracket listing of all the participants will be mailed on July 1 to each of them with the pairings for each match. Each pair will have until the following Monday to inform the event coordinator, Myyre, of the results of the match... that is, who won.

A new bracket will again be sent to all participants listing the advancing winners and the new pairings for the next match. Again, each pair of opponents will have until the following Monday to notify the coordinator of the winner.

The next matches will be semi-finals and will be held at the Inn on Tuesday, July 19, at 10:00pm Eastern in the smoking lounge upstairs through the cedar door. The finals will be held the following Tuesday, July 26, in the smoking lounge as well. We would anticipate a fair size audience for the semi-finals and the finals. This format will give everyone flexibility in scheduling their matches, rather than dictating a time and day for each match.

I will be posting the winners and new pairings in this Silvergate folder each week so that you can follow along at each level of matches and cheer for your favorite. Each pair of opponents may choose any dart game that they wish to decide their match. However, if they cannot agree on a game then 301 (the shorter version of 501) will be played. At the semi-finals, 301 will be the official game and at the final match, the game played will be 501. To make the game as fair as possible, no aiming will be allowed in the semi-finals or finals.

Registration may be done by informing any officer of Silvergate, giving the officer the name of the adventurer that will be playing and the e-mail address for sending bracket pairings. You may also register with Myyre, the Inn Barkeep, who will be coordinating this event. You may also register by sending an e-mail to me at this play.net address.

Although we will have a trophy award for the winner and likely a silver prize as well, we are hoping that the membership will benefit mostly by having an enjoyable hour or so with other members of Silvergate Inn at each match that they attend. As well as the dart board, we have a table in the smoking lounge of the Inn where you can purchase a set of darts if you do not own one already.

We hope that the members will attend this new activity in the Inn which should be easier now with the new capability of the small Silvergate pin. A member will be teleported back to the Inn from ANY town in the lands to the Inn once a month by simply "TAPPING" the pin. You do have to make your own way back if you so desire but it is a much more convenient way to attend an event in your Inn. We would also request that only one adventurer from an account be entered into the contest.
