I feel another reminder that the game play value would be only enhanced by introducing some system for accelerated passage between destinations. The pay for play devices are not really practical and limiting the hunting grounds, shopping areas and social experiences in this way damages the game. The portal system worked well in Platinum for me, was a breeze to get to and from but even once you cross into another realm, it could take a long time to travel around on the new map between places. It's still a lot of time.

I disagree completely, if anything it's getting TOO easy to get from place to place. The more places are opened up and ease of travel increases, the more multi accounting groups are going spreading out their misery. Before the boot was opened back up MA groups and AFK scripting was rare in RR, now it's steadily becoming a bigger and bigger issue.

At least when they limited themselves to a few hunting grounds those that cared to avoid them could just avoid those places. Now they can travel in a loop to farm more places into oblivion on a more regular basis.

I totally agree with your disagreement. I walk EVERYWHERE, from Landing to Mule, Zul, Nations, etc. Although I still miss some things because of ;go2 at least with my eyes on the screen if I notice something I can stop ;go2 and examine it. I've always been a strong advocate of Smell The Roses!

While I don't necessarily support the motives behind the position, the position itself is pure gold!

We lose something every time we make the conscious decision to set aside interacting and just move to where we feel like watching a script do something. And no, I'm not being hypocritical here. The value of Lich, to me, is all the information scripts, and the map. Do I use other facets of it? Absolutely - there's only so much to be seen selling a bag full of gems.

But hunting? Racing to and fro? Sometimes, yes. But not always. In fact, the Elf in the Scatter is two macros, and a lot of typing. Even moving to, and from.

Roses, indeed, until they're trampled by the masses.
