Would it be possible to have things like armor adjusting blocked by befriend cold? If it stops healing and visible whispers, it ought to block other ways people can get close enough to paw at my character.

Speaking slowly to Puptilian, Aydan asks, "You seriously just said that?"

This is how it works at present already, unless it was changed within the last several weeks and I did not see the announcement.

I often have to (temporarily) befriend warriors to have my armor adjusted.

Personally, I dislike the mechanical influence of DEMEANOR settings which ought to be intended to be only a roleplaying verb. I would much rather see FLAGs for controlling if one can be healed by others, etc.

Except for my main character (who I already loosened up a lot over the years), I don't make much use of specific demeanors or befriend because it's just such a hassle to keep removing it (or befriending people friendly) and putting it back.

Surely there are plenty of people who like this system for various reasons (the OP seems to want it to behave as it already does, whereas it annoys me) but I've never been one of those people.

Hm. I was pretty sure I was adjusted the other night by someone I had befriended as cold. Now I'm wondering if I'm losing my mind.

If they are in your group, demeanor setting does not matter they can adjust armor, mess with your companion, etc.
