A lot of our RP verbs are enhanced by a range of adverbial modifiers to narrow down the exact nature of the action being performed, like the wide variety of styles in which we can laugh, grin, etc. As a big fan of adverbials, I'd like to suggest that CHORTLE should have its own tone modifiers.

Things like:

Dave chortles gleefully.

Dave chortles maliciously.

Dave chortles suggestively.

Dave covers his mouth and chortles away behind his hand.

Dave chortles loudly, squinting and creasing his cheeks in mirth.

Dave chortles quietly, shaking his head in disbelief.

Any other chortles you can think of? Any other verbs that could benefit from the addition of adverbials?

The CHORTLE verb has been updated to allow for chortling in the following styles: loudly, gleefully, maliciously, suddenly, disbelief, suggestively, secretly, snottily, and sarcastically.

Thanks to SUTTOND for the suggestion and messaging!

(The Platinum instance will get it in a few days, when I'm sure I didn't break anything)
