A couple more speech verbs I've unsuccessfully tried to use recently and would love to see added to the ever-expanding list, if possible:
interrupt
invite
compel
concur
contradict
Thank you for considering!

Tone - obstreperous |
So, a cocky tone of speaking or difficult? Personally I feel that good communication means a desire to be as easily understandable as possible. If we're using a lot of seldom used words or words that have fallen out of use than we're making clear communication more difficult. Since Gemstone is a scrolling text based game, I feel that using archaic verbiage is probably not in our best interest.

obstreperous
[ uhb-strep-er-uhs ]
adjective
resisting control or restraint in a difficult manner; unruly.
noisy, clamorous, or boisterous
Google tells me that the terms obstreperous and boisterous presently share roughly the same popularity - I would settle for the latter, but observing that neither is available... I would prefer both :)

Hey guys,
Just noting here now while ya'll can still see it: anything that was suggested on here for tones & speech verbs prior to mid-November is already in QC. Anything that's been suggested since then, I've jotted down for future reference. I will eventually play around on the wiki's tone/speech page to see about adding some sort of static request/discussion area (probably in the talk page and/or in a subpage), though ya'll are also welcome to do so if you get there before I do (because 'eventually' may be awhile, time depending) or before some other solution is arrived at for how to track these suggestions going forward.
On the by and by, while I'm here, tones that are more than 15 characters when in adverb form won't work with the system -- 'enthusiastic' isn't QC-rejected, it's just that 'enthusiastically' can't actually be used. Just so those of you who may not already know that are aware of why it (and a few other longer ones) never makes the cut! ;)

Speech verb: DECIDE! I tried to use it the other day and was surprised it wasn't already a thing!
~You remove a pair of oval ora-framed spectacles with pale grey lenses from in your ebon linen vest. You unfold the earpieces of your spectacles. You put on a pair of oval ora-framed spectacles with pale grey lenses. You think to yourself, "Deal with it."
