Hey guys,
Previously, signature verbs were limited to 9 per character. That ceiling has been upped -- the limit is now 20 per character.
As you guys may have noticed, we've been offering this service more frequently over the past few years, and, amazingly, we have quite a few folks who have maxed this out already. However, we definitely want to allow people to continue to customize their characters whenever the opportunity presents itself -- hopefully this allows some of you to do that.

>>As a thought, before upping the max, why spread it around more. I'm sure many of the new players and some of the more recent players may like to enjoy that particular perk as well.
On the flip-side, so that you understand some of the reasons for upping the max:
One reason is that given the number of folks at the max at this point, it was time -- it's not unbalancing and only enhances characters. Hand-in-hand with that, people who were at the max and winning another service generally give up old verbs to get newer ones, which isn't really ideal.
Also, as specifically noted, these have been offered in much higher frequency lately. So there is a push to spread the wealth. For example, last year in Prime, I worked on 15 people. This year in Prime, I've worked on 48 people so far, plus I still have EG coming up. Roughly 90% of the people I've worked on this year so far were first-time winners. It would be nice to continue that kind of trend, but to also allow those people who have already won to continue to expand their verb line-up. (It's like action fashion!)
Another reason is that some of us want to offer packages (more than 9) as "big" wins -- and previously could not.
In general, this simply means more overall customization in terms of enhancing individual characters.

I think the other reason folks were hitting the limit of 9 is due to the distribution of pre-QC'd and approved verbs such as Gostahl's 'signature victory' that he raffled off, as well as the merchant at RtCF that let you choose 9 pre-made verbs. While not custom, these put a pretty large number of signature verbs out there. In the case of the RtCF merchant, it immediately capped you out if you won and had none.
I replied to Jesphian's post on the plat boards with an idea for a wider distribution in plat, but in general I think the availability of more pre-QC'd verbs that can easily be raffled and given to folks is a great way to get them spread around some more.

Always loved the idea of signature verbs that add to the individuality of a person. (see some really great ones in the past) Never had one myself but can certainly see the appeal. I can certainly attest to the brilliance of other sister signature items and think this limit extension is definitely a good move. Thanks for making it!
Will look out for some of these raffles in 2014 and beyond, some of which hopefully will have a draw time before 12pm GMT. (From my mouth to the Huntress ear!)

I love the max # was updated but Im curious why there is a limit at all. I think the best part of gemstone and what keeps people playing is there is so much customization allowed. Imagine if there was a limit to general alters or only being allowed two feature alters. That being said, none of my characters have a signature verb and I'd be very excited to get one. I really like the trend of the pre approved verbs lately. I like that it was mentioned "packages" might be more common. I hope that means themes, maybe with typical stereotypes commonly seen in elanthia. The flirt, the angry woman etc or maybe race specific packages like the one raffled at the sylvan event only available to sylvans and half sylvans.
