Hand of the Arkati was founded on July 11th, 2016.

Since founding, we have been keeping detailed event records for every event that we have performed. Once Reim was officially released, we started performing unofficial, daily events. These were widely undocumented for the month of September, October, and November. However, we determined that we would start keeping detailed event attendance and results starting on December 1st, 2016.

Since that time, we've been keeping tabs of both official and unofficial events, attendance records, silver splits, guests, etc. This thread will contain some of the high level results of the analysis of the events, and overall posture of the MHO.

December is the first month that we have decided to keep detailed statistics of all unofficial events. While we have been performing at least daily Reim runs as an MHO, we were not diligent about attendance records. Since they were unofficial in nature, there has been minimal communication/advocacy of the runs. We tend to run these events at approximately 8:30 PM EST, and are open to anyone 90+, however, safety is not guaranteed. Individuals are welcome to reach out to any member/officer for more information, or attempt to meet us inside Reim (what we run most often to join us). Once there, we will provide the details for our Discord server, where all subsequent events/shinanigans (not you, our sorcerer member!) are planned/communicated.

January Writeup:
So, in the month of January we had two main objectives:
Be thoughtful in our roster expansion.
Increase Endowment Contribution.

While we saw an increased month over month in both marginal and absolute gains in membership, we also saw a dramatic increase in the number of guests at our official and unofficial events. We've moved past any concept of participation guaranteeing membership, and we're now in a position where we are being thoughtful with our offers in membership. Contributing factors include communication (via our Discord client is a huge help), general swiftness in objective completion (don't miss rares), aptitude, interest level in joining, and attitude. This does not mean that if you participated and we did not discuss membership that we have completely looked you over for membership, but generally those that express interest in joining are most likely to be evaluated for membership.

With being promoted to a Tier 2 MHO, we've also turned our attention to the endowment. Not only did we've manage to increase total silvers introduced into the economy month over month (driven by much higher participation), while also increasing contribution to our endowment substantially. The January endowment figures currently represent over half of our current endowment. It is perceived that continued economic growth will be peaking relatively soon though, as our most active participants seem to have dwindling quantity of major loot boosts remaining.

January also saw the introduction of Paid events with three runs of Night at the Academy being held as official Hand of the Arkati events. All successful runs, this helped our members get nice, shiny enhancives for dealing with invasions or other situations where the additional strength is warranted. Some members also took the profit route, obtaining some nice items to sell to fund the event, as well as potential future box office events.

Our Objectives for February will involve recruiting an additional Officer to help us fill a gap with officer presence west of the Dragonspine for recruitment/induction purposes, as well as expanding our scope of events. We were welcomed by the Crimson Legion in the last week to help defend Vaalor from Demons invasions, fitting into out scope of objectives of fighting the strongest of the strong. While we will stick our capped hunting mantra, we may occasionally toss something fun into the mix as we delve more into the MHO structure. (Note: Fun is subjective). If we do anticipate events that fall outside of our core objective of capped hunting, we will have multiple events within a day, so participants do not feel forced to attend an event that falls outside of their interest, or impedes upon his/her own personal RP style. With performing our first box office events in January, we may expand to other Box Office events in the coming months, pending reviewing prize lists and soliciting interest from members.

February Writeup:

In the month of February we had two main objectives:
Participate in Vaalor Storyline
Officer Expansion

Hand of the Arkati went all-in on the Ties that Bind Vaalorian storyline with Vindicto. While the relationship was rocky at first with a bunch of non-elfy defenders of Vaalor standing firm at the gates, even King Qalinor took note of how invaluable having an organized group of post-capped people can be beneficial to the defenses of the town, and thanked our organization personally. I think our most fun we had was when a bunch of us went from Illistim to Vaalor, defended there while Illistim was falling... Once things got quiet in Vaalor, we returned to Illistim, battled the invaders back from the keep to the gate, and then pushed them outside the gate to the intersection of Sylvarraend Road and Whistler's Pass, and ended the invasion by killing off a demon.

Our January efforts were around THOUGHTFUL expansion of our roster, and that has continued to ring true into this month. While we have had many, many guests (non-Hand of Arkati Members) participating in our events, we have been even more reserved in offering full membership. Given the size of the post-capped community, our isolated hours of official events being unavailable to some of the community, and general historical drama between members and non-members to the point where we don't feel like the non-member would be a good fit, I anticipate recruitment to be tapering off.

Endowment was not as much of a focus this month as it was January, and that was reflected in the amount of endowment produced at approximately 3m down from approximately 4m in January. This is also due to 5 normal Reim-silver-producing events being diverted to the Vaalorian storyline. Our current endowment at the time of writing this is at 9.75m, which is a very healthy budget for an MHO that's only 7 months old, especially when we consider that the only mechanism of endowment growth has been skimming silvers off of the top of events!

A new officer has not yet been selected for our officer ranks. Conversations have been ongoing among the current officers, and perspective candidates identified, we are simply monitoring the situation before expanding the roster. With the changes to the mechanics of TRADING, I have been taking Whirlin to Icemule to sell on our official Reim Farming runs evenings for selling responsibilities, and to also offer inductions west of the Dragonspine as required.

It is difficult to specify how much the trading nerf has directly influenced our organization. But we have seen some of the lowest silver productions out of Reim in the last month worth of events. In January, 8 of 27 Reim events resulting in under 200k silvers per participant payout, whereas in February, that was observed 20 of 29 times. While some of these instances can be attributed to quicker than normal clears, lack of farming, and a few instances of leaving prematurely to go to Vaalor, there is still a clear reduction in payout resulting from either loot reduction or trading potency changes. Looting strategies have not changed internally, we still dedicate a specific looter who utilizes major loot boosts, and a dedicated seller with trading trained.

Our Objectives for March remain unchanged:
Continue evaluating candidates for officership
Thoughtfully expand Roster where appropriate
Continue engaging with GMs on plot lines (Mazreth was amazing on communicating a schedule so we could prepare accordingly)
Consider more Box Office Events as interest permits

March Writeup:

In the month of March we had the following objectives:
Continue evaluating candidates for officership
Thoughtfully expand Roster where appropriate
Continue engaging with GMs on plot lines (Mazreth was amazing on communicating a schedule so we could prepare accordingly)
Consider more Box Office Events as interest permits

We've accomplished quite a bit this month. March we promoted Nuadjha to a position of officership. Nuadjha was a founding member of the Hand of the Arkati, and while relatively recently became active in our Discord Server and events. He's proven incredibly adept in coming up with a flurry of membership insignia ideas, rallying members, and all around level headed and pragmatic with his approach to leadership. A much needed, welcome addition.

While we only officially inducted two new members in the last month, we have had a rally of new potential members that have been attending our unofficial events, and have just had hiccups in actually getting them into the organization. I believe I may have overstated our membership by 1 in the previous monthly report, as I do not have any records of any members that I removed. Or I simply forgot about them. Whoops.

During the month of March, we also were invited and celebrated in Ta'Vaalor in the celebration following the Vindicto storyline. During this wonderful Vaalorian Ceremony, many of our members were recognized for their efforts in the conflict, including Siierra, Arshwikk, and Treeva. However, during this event, I also learned that we cannot take this hunting group anywhere! I think between some members trying to sleep with royalty, flicking peanuts at the mirror, and arguing rank with bodyguards, we probably overstayed our welcome a bit much. But at least we left in style aboard the Falcon. Don't get me wrong... we all had a blast... just sorry to Mazreth for our shinanigans!

Post-Vaalorian storyline, we attempted to get involved with the Illistim storyline with the quakes, but were met with stronger racism and animosity against our organization compared to Vaalor. Our shinanigans were clearly not appreciated! Collectively, we agreed not to get as involved.

But we've been doing some more box office stuff. That's been a fun change of pace.

We have been seeing loot in Reim drying up substantially, starting around the second week in March. This is incredibly disheartening to all of our members. We were explicitly told that Reim was never meant to be considered a capped hunting ground, but was instead is a paid quest, and it would be reasonable to assume that paid quests would be outside of the realm of hunting pressure/etc due to the pay-per-entry barrier. Due to this silver dry-up, many members have voiced a reduced interest in purchasing/using additional Reim Entry orbs to accelerate scrip growth... as the source of the funds for the additional charges were coming from the Reim runs themselves! We are currently working with our members and officers to realign our events to ensure that we're not JUST a Reim group, but also engage in other aspects of the capped content.

Our Objectives for April are as follows:
Establish concrete guidance for membership tiers and benefits
Finalize and submit our design of our Insignia
Stockpile goods for the Craft Bazaar
Reschedule, diversify, and expand the quantity of official events to attract new members

Well well well... guess what organization got COMPLETELY SIDETRACKED with Duskruin? That's right... we did. However, in aggregation, Hand of the Arkati earned at least 2 million bloodscrip between all its members. Countless members leveraged the Arena to make some silvers, and many of us are walking away from Duskruin with new shineys, new modifications to project pieces, and probably at least a locker full of the various drama-armor, drama-weapons. As a result of Duskruin, however, events were relatively light this month.

As a tangent... I love this organization. A handful of us got together, and went in on a set of 8, 9, and 10x enchanting potions. Given the costs were so high, as they were 40 pours each, we split the potion costs 4 ways and started working instantly to gather scrip. When we saw prices start to increase, another HoA member gave us a loan to get the potions early before the prices rose any higher. No huge questions, no massive writeup, just trust within the organization to manage multiple millions of silvers without batting an eye.

On a side note... We have many people who are slated to become obtain membership status... we just got super side tracked with Duskruin...

It's a good thing we took the time in Duskruin to make some money, because the money out of Reim isn't cutting it anymore! Even with major loot boosts we've seen silver splits drop off dramatically! With this in mind, we're restructuring our events to deprioritize farming runs. Farming runs is when we would just sit inside the entrance, and people would keep popping orbs to get lots of scrip in a single evening. We historically walked away with a ton of silvers from doing this... Silvers which people would then re-invest into orbs, which they would then ask for more farming runs, etc, etc... So the loot reduction is cyclical leading to less orbs being used. As a result, we're now focusing on faster runs, and clearing the instance as quickly as possible.

Going forward in April, we have rescheduled our events to better reflect this change:
Tuesdays: Same as existing, entering at 8:30. However, we will begin progression and look to leave the first area at 8:45.
1st/3rd Thursday: Warcamping out of Illistim
2nd/4th Thursday: Warcamping out of Solhaven
2nd/4th Wednesday: Reim Farming
During April, we also anticipate taking a few nights to go onto the Test Server and test out the new Reim Defense that Retser threw together... We enjoy breaking the everythings that he makes.

As far as membership tiers are concerned, we have added a new "Veteran" member status. Veterans are individuals that have accumulated 100... event points? Official, calendar item events are worth 3 points. Nightly unofficial events and impromptu events are worth 1 point. As you can also see, we've introduced a new type of event: Impromptu events. These events are off-peak events containing of at least 5 Hand of Arkati members, advertised on Lnet/Discord, add 100k to the endowment, and must be led by a member of Veteran status. We saw a LOT of our members doing mid-day, or off-peak Reim runs, hunts in SOS, bounties, and all sorts of fun, social, Hand of Arkati events, but there was a lack of a mechanism in place for these people to get credit for benefiting the organization! So this structure was put in place so that our new Veterans can lead these events, get the credit they deserve, and help members that may have alternative playtimes feel like they are still contributing to the organization, and their contributions are being noted!

Our Craft Bazaar stockpiling is going well! Some items are as high as 30% of our target. Considering we're aiming to have max quantities of only the best goods for you all, that's a big achievement so far! With Duskruin being over, there is an increased push towards the stockpiling efforts. We'll have lots of great shineys for a lot of people come craft bazaar time!

Lastly... we're still finalizing the insignia design. We have a lot of good ideas that we're just weeding though!

Our Efforts for the month of May include the following:
Bazaar crafting!
Membership Recruitment
Testing the new Reim Tower Defense
Finalizing Insignia(s)

May Writeup:

Our Efforts for the month of May include the following:
Finalizing Insignia(s)
Bazaar crafting!
Membership Recruitment
Reim Tower Defense

Starting at the top, I am pleased to announce that our Hand of the Arkati insignias have been submitted for QA, and will hopefully be available for purchase shortly. Three designs were submitted to correlate to our three membership tiers, with different metals/accents based on the tier, but all spiritually similar. We have also submitted a request for an additional insignia for members that have achieved Butcher of Reim status.

Bazaar hoarding has been going quite well. We're on target to have a substantial amount of good products at the craft bazaar. Bring your silvers.

Membership Recruitment. Contrary to Recruitment numbers, we have been seeing some new blood at our events. As any veteran can tell you, there is a natural ebb and flow with Gemstone, and we have seen people's attendance dwindle, while new blood takes their place, and eventually they come back when time permits. For us to have kept numbers so consistent, and relatively trending up has been impressive. I do fully anticipate our upcoming months to have dwindled attendance due to school's summer vacations, kids being home, etc... because apparently we're all adults now or something.

Lastly, regarding Reim Fortress Defense, we have been running Reim Defense as an unofficial ad-hoc events this month. I believe 4/5 of the top scoreboard slots were held by Hand of the Arkati members, and 5/5 of the Reim Kill Counts held by Hand of the Arkati members. We have developed strategies for maximizing scrip during runs. Unfortunately, maximizing scrip earned for multiple people is not the same as clearing as many waves are you can in the instance. A group of us managed to cleared through wave 29 with a full group. During the month of June, we will be focusing on this during downtime and trying to schedule attempts to clear the Reim Fortress Defense instance (supposedly, beating wave 31 means you win).

For the Month of June, we have four main objectives.
First and foremost, we will complete our preparation for our Craft Bazaar!
Secondly, I am looking to work with the other officers to firm up our handling of a few of our less defined concepts:
-Blackballing Membership Applications
-Intra-membership Drama management
-General Member-nonmember Drama management
-Relationship declarations
Basically... an HR department... I'm establishing an HR department that people can go to for stuff.
Third, I will be putting together a group to clear RFD... because apparently all we do is break everything Retser loves.
Fourth, I will be working with GMs to plan something special for our one-year celebration. The Hand of the Arkati was founded on July 11th, 2016... Something will be happening on that evening during the Hand of the Arkati's active time.

So I have something to copy/past next month, our Objectives for June include:
-Craft Bazaar
-HR Department
-Clear Reim Fortress Defense
-One Year Celebration Plans

June Writeup:

Our Objectives for June included:
-Craft Bazaar
-HR Department
-Clear Reim Fortress Defense
-One Year Celebration Plans

Overall, this has been an incredibly successful month. Attendee counts are up month over month, membership has increased month over month, even silvers are on an uptick, overall, success on all fronts. There's little more I can say. Things are running incredibly smoothly... Although, many of us ran out of Major Loot Boosts...

We've successfully created 773 items. Super competitively priced, but if they all sell, will bring in a total of approximately 33m. Took forever, and a lot of hard work from many of our members. A special shoutout to Tysong, Spenster, Ragz, Siierra, Treeva, Nuadjha, Arshwikk, and others for their efforts! I'll be advertising soon!

The HR department has been founded... and it was met with many lulz... but has also been used... Pretty much anytime more than 1 person is involved, there's drama. Seriously... so much drama.

Reim Fortress Defense fell off of our radar this month. We still fully intend to form a clearing party for this. However, we simply haven't been able to schedule it! Lots of conflicting schedules. So this will persist on our objectives for now.

A One Year Celebration is currently being arranged by one of our leaders. A rough draft of the event/raffle items have already been created/discussed... so now we just need to set a date and move forward! Of course, we'll advertise here.

For the month of July, we're focusing on our members on two fronts. First and foremost, while we've never had any attendance requirements on our members, we do have a handful of members that were inducted prior to our 'attend an event to be eligible for membership' rule. This was when the only events that we tracked were our official, calendar events. Nowadays, we are running events on a daily basis, and if there is sufficient interest during off-hours, any veteran is able to run an impromptu event where attendance is tracked. We have decided to circle back with individuals that have been long-time members, but never attended events, determine interest level, and curb our roster where necessary.

In conjunction, we will also be more forthcoming with membership offers. Guests that attend our events will be approached post-events and asked if there is interest in membership. Up until now, the Hand of the Arkati has never broached the subject of membership to guests. It was always up to the guests to inquire about membership before any action would be taken. This should lead to increased membership and higher event turnout. Who knows, maybe we'll even recruit something other than a wizard for once.

I will not remove members in excess of new members coming onboard. I will attempt to reach out to and discuss removal with each person before taking any action, and I will not force removal if the individual is in fact interested. I think that these two rules in conjunction should result in a stronger roster with more members having more attendance.

So, in summary, our objectives for July are as follows:
-Clear Reim Fortress Defense
-One year Anniversary Celebration
-Roster Cleaning
-Roster Expansion

After an eventful two months with IRL, and needing to trim back on some of my facilitation work, I've streamlined my operations on the backend to facilitate performing writeups, and have gone back and documented a purpose, previous 9 months' documentation, as well as subjective writeups over at:
https://forums.elanthia.online/topic/443/hand-of-the-arkati-monthly-reports

Feel free to continue to utilize this as documentation for our first almost year of operations, and I'll be posting ongoing updates there!
