Have animal companion alterations become a rarity?
If I recall correctly, when the spell first came out, and for some time after, there were more opportunities to get them altered compared to what I've seen lately (bear in mind, I've only back back a couple of months after a 2.5 year hiatus).
I recall grooming sessions where several were done. Have they been relegated to a once a month premium or pay event perk?
I have a few non-premium friends who have just resigned themselves to never getting it done, so I was just curious.
Huh, I didn't realize or recall that the number per year was limited. It must have been a much higher number per year because if recall correctly each Wavedancer run had 5-10 and then the Spitfire around that year had several. They used to do five or more at a time outside the ranger guilds.

I would think that events have different permissions than regular ones done through the guild.
Plus, just because 5 are done at one time, doesn't mean the yearly number changed. It just means the opportunity for grooming is bunched up.

Should kick my own butt for this since I am a standard account that has complain that it seems virtually impossible to get a grooming.... frontier days will have a raffle. Heh I just lowered my chance but hopefully a standard account wins since premiums have a ton more chances. With that said what are the rules for a companion grooming?
