Description: Fire multiple arrows in a single volley.
Don't know if its posted elsewhere, but can we get a description of what each rank provides? Like at what rank you can use 3 arrows on multi targets/single targets or if theres a stamina/RT pushdown or benefit for the 5th rank? Please...?
If I remember correctly when I had that cman I could fire 2 arrows at one rank 3 at 2, etc.(max at maybe 5 arrows? not sure) The issue I had with this system was you have to draw that many arrows at once, and lets say you fire 3 arrows at once, get a critical hit first shot, the other two arrows basically are wasted as they don't choose another target. That may have changed as I migrated it back down several years ago. I would end up firing 8 arrows kill 2 critters the first arrow of each volley , have lots of arrows off in the woods or elsewhere to go hunt down. Its useful young, but once you get your perception up an if you stay 1x or more in the bow it doesn't offer much to an archer past there mid 30s who gets a decent number of crit or aimed shots. I assume it works the same way with thrown weapons, although it might be much more useful there.
I haven't played with it since being a cleric but my memory's a little different than the previous poster. It's also probably wrong.
rank 1 : 1 open, 1 focused
rank 2 : 2 open, 1 focused
rank 3 : 2 open, 2 focused
rank 4 : 3 open, 2 focused
rank 5 : 3 open, 3 focused
That doesn't look exactly right, but I tend to remember anything < rank 3 being pointless, and more than rank 3 causing more RT than regular shots since it didn't take into consideration your strength bonus or something.

I think were probably both right, maybe both wrong. The significant think is, we both abandoned it, and likely cause something about it wasn't terribly useful for the point cost to learn it. I don't see hardly any one use it , and there are plenty of archers, maybe it should be revamped.
Ok, let's get this out of the way first. MFire stinks, period. Don't waste your timne or the TP's for it.
You would be much better off using those points to max your core ranged skills (Ranged, perception, ambush for AS and dodge and armor for DS, and any cm's other than MFire). I would much prefer to be ablke to fire as many aimed shots as possible in as little time as possible than to poke a critter full of non-lethal holes. This is how I train and I am lethal. I wear chain hauberk with minimal hindrance, am pretty good with the ranger circle as well as Minor Spirit circle up to 140 (used in those pesky invasions) and even have enough MIU and Arcane symbols to use any magic item or scroll out there. This also comes in handy during invasions.
They don't call me "The Archer" for nothin'

Although it's a nice concept it really is garbage considering how lethal an eyeshot it is compared to a random shot. If you can kill a creature in 3 seconds the majority of the time why would you want to poke 3 creatures and not kill any and have a longer RT? The only real reason to pick up MFire is for RP but from an actual combat point of view it's pretty much worthless.
I haven't tried the focus MFire's before they might be useful against a non-crittable creature? But that would be a heavy investment for that.

I tend to agree, If I remember alot of those cmans came before many changes to archery. Now what would be nice to see would be something instead of MFIRE, that allowed the archer ( or thrown weapons ) to concentrate deeply and focus just on there shots for a short duration, and be able to fire with and reduce a second of r/t per rank, allowing the min r/t to drop to 1 seconds with the cman in effect.
Or a cman that would allow archers and thrown to use there weapon defensively to defect incoming bolt attacks or offer some better defense against them.
