Hello...it's been YEARS since I've been around... Gemstone III actually; lost touch with it and actually thought it was gone forever. So glad to hear it isn't. Upon reinventing myself; starting from scratch and all.... trying to relearn a few things. Now when can you start singing to items; to get information? I can't recall if a spell; or must be a certain level? Any help would GREATLY be appreciated! Ty! :)

You can start singing to items at any time by using the LORESING command with the item in your right hand. The syntax is:

>>LORESING Here is the first line of your song; Here is the second line of your song;Etc...

In addition, you can now loresing to items in the room with you that you cannot hold (such as statues, books, etc) like so:

>>LORESING ::statue Here's the first line of your song directed at the statue;Second line...;Etc

Thirdly, the SENSE verb will let you test any random item to see if it has a special historical loresong (syntax: SENSE held-item), or to see if some object in the room with you has such a song (syntax: SENSE by itself).

The more levels you achieve, the better your results will be in general, but don't let that stop you! The Museums in Wehnimer's Landing and River's Rest are FULL of historical items that you can sing to for fun. There is also a statue in TSNW which you can sing to as well.
