I have been premium for a little while but I am not all that familiar with it. I have some 7x UAC gloves I would like to take to 8x. How is that done?

Assuming there is nothing unusual about your gloves you should need 2800 Premium Points to take them from 7x to 8x.

To get this started...
Go to Four Winds Gardenia Commons and from there:
N, N, N, N, NW, NW, NW, GO DOOR, E, GO ARCH --> You should now be in Sadie's Lounge
Hold your gloves in your left hand and type GET SCROLL
Then follow the directions!
