I think Estild may have a bit more work to do on 319....small log of a bandit hunt and this is what happened when I was ambushed. This was the robber's first attack.

>s
[Gyldemar Road]
Tall pines and firs spread their branches over the cobblestone road, covering it with mottled patches of sunlight and shade. In many places the tree roots have disturbed the cobblestones, buckling what once may have been a smooth, evenly laid surface. Despite the changes wrought by the area's fauna, and the erosion caused by natural forces, the roadway is in surprisingly good condition, a tribute to those who built it. You also see a reinforced shield.
Obvious paths: north, southwest

A half-elven robber springs from the shadows and strikes at you!
[Roll result: 142 (open d100: 22)]
A half-elven robber delivers a blow to your head with his longsword!
...7 damage!
You are stunned!
You are dazed!
Roundtime: 5 sec.

And for those that think that it might have gotten past the warding check I'll post this.....

KR>prep 317
chann robber
You chant a reverent litany, clasping your hands while focusing upon the Divine Fury spell...
Your spell is ready.
K>You channel at a half-elven robber.
Particles of dust and soot rise from the ground at your feet as you release a pulsating, platinum ripple of energy toward a half-elven robber!
CS: +510 - TD: +389 + CvA: -2 + d100: +89 == +208
Warding failed!
The half-elven robber is cloaked in a blinding platinum light and assailed for 94 points of damage!
... 75 points of damage!
Explosive burst wreaths the half-elven robber's body in blue flames!

[You have 5 kills remaining.]
The half-elven robber falls to the ground and dies.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
Roundtime: 3 sec.

So with the -25 to TD, and CS vs TD...there should have been no way that the CM bypassed 319.

There's normally a 1% fumble chance on rolls for player CS vs critter TD.

I'm also not sure just how 319 is managed for situations of multiple critters on multiple clerics across extended time. I doubt the system can track every cleric's 319 status on every critter, so I'd expect the equivalent of getting instantly offed by a bandit that used up its warning on someone else to happen with 319. (and I think I do see it happen occasionally, but with the opposite error, when 319 fires on a critter I reckoned used it up some time earlier in some other room).

Correct. You always have at least a 1% chance of failure.

Incorrect, it does track the effect for each cleric vs. each creature. Another Cleric's Soul Ward should not interfere with yours. The latter issue (of Soul Ward triggering on creatures that already triggered the effect once) was a pretty significant bug that no one reported, but I managed to find and fix with my previous update.

To make it easier to identify if Soul Ward (319) is simply failing to trigger or if it's just a matter that the target warded the Cleric's spell, I've added messaging for the latter. Basically, if it's the first attack from the creature and you see no messaging at all from Soul Ward, then it's a bug (in which case, please post here and provide a log).

The situations where I am fairly sure I see this happening, are when I leave a wounded critter behind in an area while I go and replenish mana, all the unwounded critters despawn while I am meditating. When I go back the wounded critter is still there and Soul Ward fires like it had never fired before.

critter attack on me is stopped by Soul Ward flare
I use up mana hurting critter
critter attack on me fails normally
I go meditate
I come back with full mana
critter attack on me is stopped by Soul Ward flare
I finish off critter

I had one of these just after my previous post in this thread, so unless your update is that recent, I think this effect is still there.

That's a different issue. The effect that blocks subsequent attacks from being intercepted by Soul Ward only lasts for 5 minutes. So if you engage a creature, Soul Ward triggers, it then won't block any more attacks until 5 minutes have expired. For probably 95% of all creatures, they're dead by then, so it's not an issue, but we had to draw the line somewhere in terms of how long to track such information.

5 minutes seems like a really long time. . . can you make it like 15 seconds?

You wish! Just be glad you have such a great death cheating spell in the first place, darn greedy cleric.

I just don't want to tax the internal resources of the game over something so trivial. . .
