>>I'd actually like a damaging bolt version of 311. Just compare that spell to 1615, 135, or bolt Web and you can see how the idea behind it could be done right, but without doing damage it's just not worth it.

And a unique ball spell would be very welcome too, whether it was that or something else.

I have never, ever, used blind.

I don't think anyone has. Right now it's the only truly useless spell in cleric base.

I used blind quite a bit in the bowels.

As a capped cleric, there are plenty of uses for blind for me.

One of the last Glad Games that happened in the Landing Arena, I think the character who went the distance/won the whole event, did it with Blind. (And then walking over and pasting his opponents into next week with weapon attacks.)

I think there's something about the spell that just made it totally devastating when cast at characters, but I don't remember what it was. It was WAY better than just stunning them was, though.

I understand the use of blind, but we already have censure, bind and prayer of holding for undead. How many disables does one class need?

I've only used bind or censure while hunting, blind on players since it has deity specific messaging.

Different disablers have different purposes. Censure is a mass disabler. Bind is a different circle and subject to lower CS. I enjoy having a variety of options. It's what makes for strategic hunting.

Okay, now you all have me curious. Blind uses cleric CS and cleric TD, does no damage, occasionally knocks a foe to its knees, and always stuns. Divine Fury uses cleric CS and cleric TD, does tons of damage, occasionally knocks a foe to its knees or on the ground, and pretty much always stuns. When is the 6 extra mana not worth it?

This.

Blind is for funsies and is almost never tactically worth it in real hunting situations.

I'm with Leafiara, it's completely useless and should be replaced.

But back to the OP, I would love to see a lower cost hybrid CS/bolt spell somewhere in the circle, whether it's 308 (another wasted spell slot that should just be bundled with 318), 309, 311 or somewhere else in that range.

At the time of which I speak, the duration was 5s / level of the caster, and there was NOTHING that would break a character out of a stun nor mitigate any other effect (like a CMan to stand you back up if you got knocked over later).

So when a 40th level caster got a successful one off against you in the Arena, you were stuck for the next three minutes plus... may as well stand up from the keyboard and stretch your legs a bit, you weren't going anywhere.
